Dr.Duterte is a very caring & knowledgeable Doctor
Dr.Duterte has taken care of myself, my mother & my husband. He is an excellent GI Doctor. He explains things very well. He listens to the concerns of the patient. He is very personable & very knowledgeable. I have alot of faith in him. He has, without a doubt, saved my life plus my mother's life during a severe intestinal infection.

Dr. Duterte is an excellent gastroenterologist
The Dr. spent time explaining results, the colonocopy and endoscopy went without a hitch and I have had it carried out more than once. In my honest opinion you'll not find a better enterologist in the county. He treats you the utmost respect and kindness. I had Medicare so did not have payment issues.

Dr. Duterte saw my husband. Colonoscopy went fine. Abnormal findings noted as we had results via Quest. If your insurance doesn’t pay in full you must pay every penny before you will be seen and treated. This is told to you in front of the entire waiting room as they tell you to pay $300+ (not telling you this before you arrive so you’re not prepared) or you cannot be seen and treated. I would NEVER go back here or recommend this office. We already paid this office almost $1000 and then could not be seen to be treated for abnormal findings since we couldn’t pay another $300+ on day of appointment (that we were not told would be due in advance). I understand providers must be paid for services but it is essential when reminding patients of appointment times in advance to also let them know what amount of money is expected to be paid before being seen as well. And to withhold care if someone can’t pay you an additional $300+ When they have already been shown to pay over $1000 is is sad.

Excellent care
I have to say colonoscopy day is no fun! But dr duterte and his staff made it less horrible. I have seen the doc for 3 colonoscopies and each time have been treated professionally and cared for very well. I highly reccommend this doctor.

He did my colonoscopy I ve had several before but when he did mine I woke up in the middle of it that was painful then the next day I was in the hospital for a week I went septic. My infectious doctor said it was caused more then likely from dirty tools used during the colonoscopy

Had colonoscopy, endoscopy, diagnosed serosis likely caused by HepC virus. Dr. Duterte is knowledgeable, kind, friendly, great personality, tells you like it is, dedicated to his profession. I highly recommend this M.D. as above average and very easy to work with.

I underwent an Endoscopy this month, and, athhough the Surgery Center was quite busy on the day I was admitted, Dr. Duterte - and his nurse staff, anisteisology specialist and assistants were highly organized, friendly, caring and professional. Indeed, I became aware that Dr. Duterte, including his nurse assistants and anisteisology staff specialist, had worked through their afternoon lunch break thus to treat [all] the patients in a timely manner. And I was NOT RUSHED through any of the process. I was amongst ‘quiet, well-trained professionals.’ My visits to the Lake City office have always been pleasant. The building and examination rooms are antiseptically clean and well organized. The waiting room and front office equally clean an orderly. It is only true that when one first enters the building it is an atmosphere of quiet pleasantries and professional demeanor. The office staff are always smiling and helpful. Dr. Duterte is truly an exceptional, well-qualified MD.

I saw Dr. Duterte in 2010, and then didn’t have any GI issues until this year, and both times he has spent a great deal of time with me during appointments, as well as during my endoscopy. Dr. Duterte is very thorough and explains everything well, and makes sure to ask everything that could possibly be relevant to your symptoms, to help with diagnosing. I have seen one other GI doctor in the past (before changing to him) and I can say, they definitely did not spend the time with me that he did.

At first Dr. Duterte was caring & helpful. He diagnosis you with something then years later he changes it because he doesn't know what he's doing. I had always been honest & upfront with him & just wanted basic care. All he had to do was get a MRI enterography & he would have found my problem. Instead he insisted on the expensive pill endoscopy which clearly showed bleeding ulcers in my intestines after I prepped on my own accord with mag citrate. No prep was done on other 2 & showed nothing.

Waited 2 hours. Scheduled appointment in advance, faxed the info over to save time as their office said it would. They charged my card immediately, then 1 hour and 50 minutes later the doctor came in. I asked the staff in advance if I would be done in time to pick up my children by 3 and was told, Oh yes. I asked the doctor if he made all of his patients wait 2 hours and he said it was average. I had to walk out because I had to pick up my children from school. Paid 45.00. He's an arrogant jerk.
