He should not have a medical license
This man should not have a medical license . I took my mother to see him for dementia and cognitive impairment and not only was he so completely ignorant on current medicare regulations and standard practices for testing but he could not have been more rude and dismissive to a patient and family dealing with a heartbreaking condition. (His secretary Linda is a saint and the only reason we even went for a follow up appointment )

Terrible Man! Not a doctor.
I made an appointment to see this man. I dropped off all my previous films and reports a week prior. He never took the time to read ANYTHING or LISTEN to me and my concerns. He was sarcastic and used "air quotation" to say I can't help you because you don't want medication. The medication he offered me, I had on the list of my allergies. He kept asking me if I had covid or Lyme. I said no but, if he took a minute to read my file he would know this. He shouted at me " I see you don't want to answer my questions" I said I was answering his questions. He is old, can't see, has a temper problem, and doesn't care about patients. He just kept repeating He can't help me because I don't want meds. But he never examined me or suggested further testing. Never looked at any of my results or MRIs Just wanted to prescribe drugs I am allergic to. I took my reports out of his hands and left the exam room. I complained to the office supervisor and she didn't care to address the issue.

Discharged without notice after 5 years
Recently discharged without notice after more than 5 years of treatment without notice. No change in insurance provider or condition. Was not given a reason for discharge. Medication prescriptions left in limbo while I find another Neurologist. Have not been provided with my medical records as of yet. Have contacted NYS Department of Health, who have opened an investigation into the situation. Office personal have provided no help or explanation. They will not return phone calls or email. Scratching my head.

I am currently a patient of Dr. Kucherov and I would give higher than a five star rating if I was able to. I suffered from cluster headaches commonly known as suicide headaches from 2006 -2010 at its peak. The doctor was able to help reduced my headache over the years. My headaches are now in a dormant state. I currently see the Doctor for other medical needs and he is by far the best physician I have encountered in the Hudson Valley. He had changed my life significantly. He’s a true champion neurologist in my book.

I love Dr Kucherov he is caring, knowledgeable, takes his time listening to what is going on. I have seizures and head trauma, he has gotten my seizures under control; whenever I was hospitalized he was right there. The wait time is worth it because I know he is taking his time caring for another pt, and he takes the same amount of time with me. I would highly recommend him as a physician for anyone with a neurological problem. I had difficulty accepting the mental and physical changes that occurred after my head trauma and he helped with that tremendously, can never thank him enough for his care.

A very caring and smart Doctor. I have been to so many doctors with no improvement. Dr. Kucherov offered many different treatments that I have not heard of or even knew about. He is very patient and listeners intently to his patients. I did not wait long, but if I had to wait a little longer, he is worth the wait. He doesn’t rush you out the door if you are unclear or still have valid questions. If he is ever behind schedule for that reason, it shows his dedication to help and treat his patients.

Dr. Kucherov has been very helpful with my MS. He is always very attentive and always takes his time when I’m in with him. I have been able to get appointments quickly and if I need to call the office with a question the office staff is very helpful. They ask the doctor and return my call fast.

Dr. Kucherov correctly diagnosed a nerve problem for my wife which several other doctors, including a surgeon at N.Y.U. Langone did not identify. He may be somewhat eccentric but in my opinion he is the best neurologist in this area. {Having previously seen several}

Until my last appalling appointed I would have given this doctor three stars for somewhat satisfactory treatment, but when I saw him recently for a routine follow-up exam he hadn't reviewed my records and had no idea who I was. His questions were puzzling and he prescribed a medication that I realized was contraindicated due to my medical history and age. I left a message for him to call me about my concerns, but instead he sent a letter informing me no longer accepted me as his patient.

Always unreasonable wait times of an hour or more, and then little time spent in office with dr. Seems unsympathetic to how difficult dementia can be. Seems ill-equipped for this particular condition and type of patient. Rude reception desk as well. We were told that we have to wait an hour because that's how Dr Kucherov is. When I asked if we could come in later, was told we still had to come in on time and just wait. Apparently his time is more valuable than ours.
