I have been with Dr Uchal for three years and he have work with me through my ups and downs and he has always encouraged me to stick with the weight lost journey and I am proud to say that I’m down over a hundred pounds. I have met my goal and maintain it for over a year.

Dr. Uchal is highly recommended as an expert in the field of Bariatric Surgery, in fact, my Digestive Medicine Doctor advised me that Dr. Uchal is THE BEST, and I agree! Not only is he an exceptional Surgeon, he has an exceptional character and obviously exhibits the highest of standards for himself and his staff, while at the same time is personable and caring! I am SO grateful to have Dr. Uchal as my Surgeon, and will gladly bear witness to his impeccability! Under his care I have been given a NEW LEASE ON LIFE. At the age of 70 years old and having struggled with obesity my entire life, I feel he has guided me and given me the opportunity to live the rest of my life healthy! THANK YOU Dr. Uchal!

2011 The Doc that put in my lap band just up and moved 6 months after installation and stopped doing bariatric procedures. I was furious. Dr. U helped me on and off with band fills for several years. He was (is) a blessing. I loved the fact that he treated me with respect and care without regard of ever performing another procedure on me. It was evident my care was important, not the funds from performing a procedure. (289 lbs down to 174 lbs.). Due to other medical issues, 12 years later I had to have the band removed. Dr. U removed the band and I let my body rest for almost two years. I gained back up to 274 lbs and knew I needed a “tool” to help me in life. Dr. U explained all the options in detail. January 2025 I had the gastric sleeve. 25 lbs down 4 weeks later and I couldn’t be happier. As long as I do my part and not manipulate the process or the tool, I will have success again and he will continue with his excellent care and concern. A future loss of 120 lbs coming soon!

with visiting with Dr.Uchal last year I really didn't know what to expect I was nervous and I was scared we visit all of the options before it was time for surgery when it came to the surgery part I understood what I was getting myself into throughout the whole entire process Dr. uchal and his team were very excellent and helpful. any questions or concerns they took care of it any hurdles they help me get through when it came for my surgery on December 30th I knew my life was in great hands Dr. uchal and his team has changed my life I'll forever be grateful for what he has done for me and my life any questions I had any concern he made sure that I knew and I was comfortable even with his crazy personality I would definitely recommend him to anybody thank you love your number one patient.

I first saw Dr Uchal last year but never followed through it was scarey and I didn’t have any support! I finally called and made the leap 8 months later I had gastric bypass Dr Uchal and his team made me feel comfortable and eased my mind! From the first appointment with Dr. Uchal he presented my wife and I with all the risks and benefits of removing the sigmoid colon for the purpose of alleviating her chronic diverticulitis and to prevent closure of the colon. He encouraged us to seek a 2nd opinion if that would help us with our decision. He believed that it was the best course of action for us and noted that once he would begin the surgery it could even be worse than the diagnostic tests had shown. That was indeed the case, and the surgery took 4.5 hours as opposed to the typical 2 - 3. It is almost 3 weeks now since the surgery and my wife is improving every day. Dr. Uchal's passion, focus, skill, and care was very evident throughout this serious medical procedure effecting us. We thank God for him.

Had a gastric bypass, April 2024 and the experience was even better than expected. I felt very comfortable with Dr. Uchal and very happy with the procedure. My overall experience with Ascension, St. Vincent’s Riverside has been very positive as well. I would definitely recommend Doctor Uchal if you are considering bariatric surgery.

I had a procedure performed that is fairly run of the mill for him and his team, but, they were always accommodating with all of my inquiries and were nothing short of friendly and cordial. Dr Uchal did an emergency procedure removing a lapband that was put in several years ago by a different Physician. Dr Uchal did an excellent job I had minimal pain after leaving the hospital. I took pain medicine only once after leaving the hospital. Dr Uchal also performed a sleeve on me 9 months after removing the lap band and again it was a wonderful experience. I live 2 hours away in a different state but Dr Uchal is the only surgeon I will allow to do surgery on me. Dr Uchal has a great bedside manor, very friendly and personable. If you ask a million questions he will answer a million plus one. Great experience from Dr Uchal, his staff and the students that were there learning.
