Pain relief
Dr. Dumitrescu is a top-notch rheumatologist. I have been suffering from muscle pain for years with no other doctor able to diagnose my problem. She immediately took a aggressive approach with multiple tests, and determined what my issue is. Finally relief after 20 yrs.She is probably one of the smartest people I have ever met.Much thanks.Tom

Dr.D is the most professional doctor I know. After seeing two Rheumatologists ,she finally diagnosed me with RA and started me on chemo medications She wears many hats ,a straight shooter and if you are looking for somebody to treat anxiety and racing heart beat don't waste your time . She will tell you how it is ,but if you are looking for the right diagnostic I strongly recommend her .She is smart like a whip ,but she will tell you the truth .

I saw Dr. D. after over half a decade of chronic pain. I always felt like she was rushing me out of the office (or off the telehealth visit) and she did not take the time to really talk with me about my symptoms or about her thoughts. What she did do was send me for blood test after blood test, misdiagnose me, put me on a medication that made my heart race, and then tell me to see a cardiologist. She does not have a good bedside manner and does not react well to her patient expressing any sort of frustration with the lack of communication. Absolutely do not recommend.

She doesn't examine patient and doesn't let patient finish speaking by saying "yes, yes, yes" when she doesn't understand what you just told her. Language barrier. She treated my husband.

Dr. D is one of the best MDs I have ever encountered. I have suffered with lupus for longtime and is the only doctor who was able to control my lupus . Im taking Hyroxychlorochine for lupus and i heard so many controversial discussions on TV about this medication . In the middle of pandemic she was calling me every week to see how I was doing . The most classy woman I ever met . The office opened and they are seen limited number of patients while disinfecting the exam rooms , God bless Dr.D and all healthcare ! I dont mind waiting even an hour if necessary because I know she is on the phone ,doing video visits ,talking with students ,residents Shame on those who are selfish and dont understand the crisis . Without our healthcare workers like DrD we would be in bad shape .

Dr Dumitrescu always ran late for appointments. I Needed to see dr in person regarding visual issues I was experiencing and the staff said “I was not important enough to see”. Office called two days prior to remind me of video call in appointment. That morning I called in and waited over 20 min for doctor to call in when she didn’t I called the office they said she was not there and to just wait on phone. Doctor never called in and did not receive a call to apologize or reschedule my appointment. However, MyChart indicates that I was the no show. There are so many dedicated doctors out there and Dr Dumitrescu is NOT one of them. The fact that she is taking new patients when she clearly refuses to take care of the patients she has is a discredit to the profession.

I cannot speak to Dr. D’s skills as a physician but her practice group is so poorly managed as to be a liability. Her partner had been my primary care physician for more than 20 years. The practice group failed to notify me that he was no longer serving in that capacity, that he was retiring or that they were discarding most of my medical records. The staff did schedule a video appointment with Dr. D, who wrote a prescription, ordered blood work and scheduled a follow-up appointment. After the blood work was complete, her office called me to cancel the follow-up appointment because I did not have a primary care physician. As a result, my insurance company has paid for a lot of lab work that no one but I have seen. I will find another PCP after the state re-opens (I have not found any that were accepting patients while the state was closed) but I would not consider returning to Dr. D’s practice.

Dr. D is one of the best MDs I have ever encountered. I have suffered with RA since my late teens and is the only doctor who was able to control my RA. She spent a lot of time answering all my questions, making sure prescriptions would be affordable under my insurance, and always reassured me to call if I needed anything. While wait times may be longer since her group joined Yale, Dr. D doesn't like to rush through patients so she is well worth the wait.

She was so rude. She actually laughed while telling me flr first time I have a life altering auto immune disorder. Just shoves pain pills down your throat. Yelled at me when I expressed that her lack of attention to detail almost killed me. Never see her again. How did she get a medical degree. Rushes you out of office so she can have lunch.

I'm a patient with RA and for many years I was not able to find a doctor to understand my symptoms and to come up with a plan. I'm a complicated patient and want to start a family soon and I was very concerned about what medication and what side-effects they have. I cannot be thankful enough to Dr. Dumitrescu for her help, compassion, and expertise.
