Dr. Michelle McLanahan, MD

Dr McLanahan has taken care of me for a couple of decades through having babies and now menopause! And she delivered my granddaughter. I’ve always felt like I was in very good hands and recommend her highly.

Dr. McLanahan is always very pleasant with me anytime i visited her practice. I will not hesitate referring people to her. I love her!!!

I am so thankful to have found Dr M! She never seems rushed during visits and always listens to me and gives great advice! I have recommended her to many friends and family !!

Dr. McLanahan’s team first started caring for me a few years ago after I moved to Jax during my first pregnancy and had trouble finding an office that would take me. The care was high quality during that entire pregnancy from her entire staff. I am now seeing her again for my second child, and she is the only OB I feel comfortable going to in town. I highly recommend her for her clinical expertise and straightforward communication style. She puts me at ease every time. The rest of her staff also go above and beyond to be helpful and cordial. Dr. M is a professional. She spends the needed time with you. She has been my doctor for over 20 yesrs. Because she is excellent, you may have to book an appointment way in advance, but it is worth it.

Firstly, the reason for my visit was delicate, so I was already feeling sensitive to the experience. Dr M was kind and professional but the office staff and nurses are terribly unprofessional. To start off, you can’t even get anyone on the phone there, it just rings indefinitely. My primary care tried to get in touch via email, and was left on read by the office staff. When I arrived, it was a dead pan “you here to check in”, brushed off, then the two ladies had a loud conversation about their lunch order being wrong and discussed patient info loud enough to hear it. Then, when I was getting my blood drawn, the nurses were loudly laughing and discussing a domestic violence victim. Had her face up on the screen and was victim shaming her about being stupid enough to make her man head-butt her. I am a domestic violence survivor and found this very unsettling. When I mentioned it to the check out person, she ignored me completely and asked when I’m due back. I could say more…Edit to add

Office staff is very unprofessional.

Dr. McLanahan is such a wonderful physician who spends a ton of time on visits. She's not afraid to sugar coat anything and let you know what's really going on. She is one of the few OB doctors who hand stitches on caesarean deliveries, resulting in little to no scar. Her office is absolutely stunning (especially at Christmas). Wait time can get long but babies don't always wait and she's the only MD there and the only MD people want.

I love Dr. McLanahan and she truly is the best, but have not seen her in years due to availability so I've seen her Advanced Care Practitioners. In December, I had an issue and needed to have a procedure that could not be done in office so it needed to be done at hospital as an outpatient. Apparently the order was just created in May for my pre-op and I was just called in August to schedule it. Luckily, I found another OB/Gyn practice that was able to complete the procedure in December in their office because they had the equipment available. Wait times at office are painful. Typically takes an hour (or more) for a routine appointment.

I am so happy with the care I’ve had at this office I had to share my experience! It's not very often that you can find providers that will listen so carefully to your concerns, provide solutions & care so compassionately for their patients. Dr. McLanahan and Katherine the nurse practitioner at the office are so knowledgeable and kind. Blood work, lab tests, ultrasounds, routine checkups and OB exams are all done in the office which is so convenient. I highly recommend this office for anyone!

Dr. McLanahan is the “BEST” doctor I have ever seen. She is knowledgeable and skilled. She does listen and is compassionate. She delivered all 4 of our children. She even delivered our twins vaginally. Yes, sometimes she runs behind but if you need a doctor to hold your hand to take routine blood work or do non emergency medical treatment she is not for you. This doctor is not golfing in the middle of the day during your appointment she is saving lives or delivering babies.

DO NOT go here if you want to see your babies after your delivery. I had twins. I was supposed to have a routine C-Section. She butchered me! She cut my uterus in half and damaged my bladder which had to be repaired with mesh and was never told about it! I died on the operating table and had to have four blood transfusions. Thank God I have guardian angels looking after me otherwise I would've never seen my precious babies. If you value your life I highly recommend you don't go to this office. I

She is an amazing doctor and with out her I don't know that my beautiful daughter would be healthy and here today.

Her office staff is disorganized. I'm always waiting 20 minutes in the waiting room, another 10 in a room in the back for lab work and another 20-30 minutes before I see a PA (not even the one MD at this practice). I've even had my appointment rescheduled without being consulted. I've been a patient at this practice for 8+ years and it just isn't the same. It's definitely time to find another OBGYN.

Dr. McLanahan takes as much time as is needed to listen and explain questions and concerns and help ease stress and anxiety even to the post menopausal patient. She's a magnificent physician.

Excellent physician and a down to earth person. I went to her to get a second opinion when I was told I had to have a complete hysterectomy. She listened and understood my concerns, answered my questions, and I felt comfortable with everything I was hearing from her. I asked her to do my surgery, instead of who I thought was going to be my first choice at another practice. I definitely chose the right physician - thanks to her expertise, I had no problems whatsoever. Thank you, Dr. M!

After visiting several OB-GYN doctors for GYN issues I finally found Dr. McLanahan. she is wonderful and I have been going to her for over 15 years for a variety of issues. I am an older patient yet she is current with so many medical issues and procedures. I would not hesitate to recommend her to young women experiencing the joy of pregnancy or others, like myself dealing with GYN health issues.
