Best Psychiatrist I've had.

Dr. Maust was kind, empathetic and inquisitive. She always saved room for more investigation with particular dimensions of my current state. Despite having several patients a day and probably at least 30 a week, she was always brining up specific details from previous sessions that helped keep our conversations productive and constructive. I truly miss working with her since she has left Mindpath. While I'm sure it is easy to find a bad review from the industry she works in I have to say that she is much more than these 1 star reviews lead you to believe. She is beyond capable and while she was my primary psychiatrist and I also felt she was a significant part of my support system.

If I left feeling worse than when I went in she didn't do her job. I left triggered, but sucked it up. Git in the car and drove to a secure area of the parking lot. All PTSD symptoms I worked years to heal came rushing back. No way could i get on the highway. She has extremely poor listening skills and is quite rude. Doctors with Carolina Partners in Mental Health (CPMH) which is what the practice name was for many years were always professional, compassionate and practiced genuine psychiatry. Michelle appears to be a type A personality and would benefit from some humility and time on the "couch." My provider with CPMH retired and a few years later the name changed to Mind Path. It seemed fine, initially. Two years or so under MP my then current provider left and three MONTHS later my new provider left. This practice in no way represents the standards it was initially built on.

Left feeling worse than when I went in. Inexperienced. Has no compassion for geriatric medicine.

I am diagnosed with severe depression and generalized anxiety disorder. I am experiencing a significant increase in anxiety and panic attacks as a result of beginning Spravato treatments that I can not discontinue as these 2 hour treatments have nearly put an end to suffering from constant/daily suicidal thoughts for 4 decades. As a result, I am experiencing a significant increase in my anxiety and a marked increase in panic attacks for which I am not receiving adequate medication. As a result, though I seldom drink alcohol, I reported to Dr. Mauss that I have, unfortunately, been forcing myself, over the last six weeks, to drink alcohol to decrease my suffering. She refused to consider effective medication(s) to treat my increased anxiety and instead simply labeled me as a person with an alcoholic "disorder," and required me to participate in a substance abuse treatment program. Six weeks of forcing myself to drink alcohol to relieve my severe anxiety does not an alcoholic make!!
