Dr. Michelle Kelley, MD

Dr. Kelley is very knowledgeable & intelligent. In addition to being direct and concise, she is warm & kind.

I am a female patient who has been seeing Dr. Kelley for the past 3 years and think she is a fantastic physician. She listens to her patient's concerns, has a wonderful bedside manner and presents information in a non-judgmental and knowledgable way. She is a great patient advocate. I have been to several UCLA PCPs in the Thousand Oaks area and have been less than impressed. Dr. Kelley stands out at the top of her profession.

I asked about a preventative treatment and she told me that, even though it would be effective, 'if everybody did that, insurance companies would be out of business.' I'm sure she didn't literally mean 'out of business,' but rather 'generally harmed,' but that's what she said and it struck me as odd that a doctor would forsake their Hippocratic oath so openly and for the benefit of an insurance company of all things. Also, during an email exchange (for a separate issue; she responds to emails within 72 hours), I was told that to receive the necessary medicine I would either need to visit her in person (next available appointment: 2 months out), or make an appointment with a specialist (next available appointment: 6 months out). So instead I just paid for a telehealth appointment not associated with UCLA and not covered by my insurance, was seen within 30 minutes, had the Rx within 2 hours, and was better the next day.
