HORRIBLY RUDE STAFF, CALLING OFFICE IS NIGHTMARE
My father has been a patient for 1 .5 years. Dr. Zimmerman himself seems ok - he's very mellow but seems good. The problem is the staff. When you call, you IMMEDIATELY get a recording saying they are receiving a 'HIGH VOLUME OF CALLS,' and you get put on hold for 8 minutes, at which point it starts to ring... for 3 minutes and if your call isn't answered, you get hung up on. I have never NEVER had my call answered before the 4th time calling... yet when you go into the office, no one....and I mean NONE of the staff is on the phone and there are no people in the waiting room! I inquired about a pre-authorization that was needed for one of my Dad's meds and I got an extremely rude phone call from the woman in the office that does the pre-authorizations for this Dr... saying it takes 7-10 days for pre-auths, she was out of the office for 2 days, and that's why she hadn't done it and it probably wouldn't be approved - that pre-auth doesn't guarantee approval. Stay FAR AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE

Terrible phone service
I left office with forms and told a certain scheduler would call to book procedure. I have now waited well over a week and no call. I called number today and waited more than 10 min on hold. Called again asked for the person, told on holiday. Transferred to schedule dept. again waited another 6 min , no answer. Called back and asked to speak to scheduler and again on hold. Called back and now no answer as many calls coming in.This is absolutely no way to run an office. I need a procedure and can’t even get it booked. Not sure who has all the time to be onHOLD!Not happy

He was attentive, professional, and patient.
Both my visits were most pleasant. The staff was upbeat, enthusiastic, and caring (even at 7am). Wow!--the colonoscopy was fantastic. The preparation was accomplished in two easy intervals. The entire building is ultra nice with convenient parking. The entire staff deserves accolades and praise. I also received a great informational packet and pictures after my procedure. Thanks for an all-around wonderful experience.

Arrogant and very flippant about my concerns
My visit was short which was fine. Dr Zimmerman did not really address my concerns just kind of looked at me like I didn’t know what I was talking about. I’m very aware of my body and how I feel and came looking for answers not someone pushing my concerns off. I’ve been seeing this doctor for many years and I definitely feel that he has changed.

I agree Dr Zimmer has a dry sense of humor but I would not go anywhere else. I have been in good hands with Dr Zimmerman. 1 colonoscopy and 1 endoscopy about to schedule a second 5 years later and he does not advise unnecessary or unneeded procedures.

No personality
He had absolutely no interest in me. I came in with a specific problem, and he barely said a word to me. On the way out, I asked the receptionist if he had any personality, and she told me “sometimes!” His own staff is embarrassed by his behavior toward patients. Medical knowledge and skill are of no value if you don’t care about your patients.

This doctor is a LIFE SAVER !
Dr. Michael Zimmerman was referred to me by my cardiologist. I had indigestion I could not get rid of. After a check-up my cardiologist asked me if I had ever had an endoscopy. I told him no. He referred me to Dr. Zimmerman and told me that Dr. Zimmerman had done a colonoscopy on him and he highly recommended him. I asked if Dr. Zimmerman had two instruments. I was assured that he had. In doing the endoscopic exam, he found things he did not like. That lead to additional blood tests. That lead to Dr. Zimmerman calling me and telling me to get a driver and report to the Emergency Room at Mountain View Hospital with an overnight bag. That lead to a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. That lead to calling in Dr. Ann Wierman, a very skilled oncologist. That all happened in August, 2018. Today is January 31, 2023. I'm still alive and doing well thanks to the intelligence, experience, and skill of these doctors!

I highly anticipated meeting with a Gastro doctor as it has been seven years. The front desk was great. The decor was really old and appeared to be about 1978. I accidentally went into the office in which they do the procedures initially and that office was horrible looking! So I was put off by that. Hi teased Dr. Zimmerman that his day car was out of date, once I did that he had no interest in meeting with me. I asked some very specific questions about my digestive system, He clearly was put off by answering anything he just wanted to get through the appointment I asked for an Endo because it had been seven years and he said that’s not really necessary you can just take some over the counter stronger meds. So I am canceling my endoscope be with him, what a waste of time!

I've been a patient of Dr. Zimmerman a few years now and frankly am super confident he knows what he is doing. He does have a dry sense of humor - which I love! He DOES listen. He DOES ask questions. I have never had any problem with the entire office.

The staff was wonderful and efficient from the time I walked into the office until the time I left. Dr Zimmerman has a dry sense of humor that I appreciate. He is also an excellent doctor that knows his stuff. I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy that went smooth and the staff at the surgery center were very compassionate and kind. I got my results in a timely manner. I would and have recommended my family and friends to Dr Zimmerman.

I saw Dr. Zimmerman once, then the PA. I needed to see him at the six month visit,, and was told that he was not available. You never see him again. The PA was not helpful. He is in the business of doing procedures. Following up on patients with complications is of zero interest to him or his staff.

I have been to the office twice and the surgical center once. I found that everyone is professional and competent. Dr Zimmerman was efficient and professional and went beyond the best to schedule another test at Mountain View Hospital within an hour of my colonoscopy. I needed to have the test done while I was cleaned out and appreciated the urgency that was given to my case. He followed up with me with the results of all of the testing and called my surgeon to update him on the results.

I sat in the waiting room for forty minutes before I was called into an examining room. After I got into that room I was told it would be another 35 to 40 minutes before the doctor could see me. This happened the last time I went to see this doctor. Very unprofessional.

Saw Dr. Zimmerman for the first time for a follow-up colonoscopy after ten years and because of a family history of colonic polyps. Dr. Zimmerman was highly attentive and did a thorough history and physical exam prior to my having a colonoscopy and polypectomy which was performed flawlessly and without complications. As a physician myself I cannot be more complimentary of Dr. Zimmerman's skill and of his staff at his procedural center.

I read some prior reviews which were pretty negative and made me hesitate making an appointment for a colonoscopy consult but went ahead after my neighbor recommended Dr. Zimmerman. I was treated very professionally by all employees I encountered. I especially was impressed with Casey who did the scheduling and answered my many questions and was super personable. She made me feel very comfortable in scheduling the colonoscopy. Had colonoscopy this am and very pleased with everyone involved!

I was unhappy with my overall experience. The person at the front desk was sullen and unfriendly. The doctor treated me like I was overreacting regarding my symptoms. He didn't want to do a specific test but I insisted. The tests he ordered showed nothing but the one I wanted had urgent abnormalities. I've been needing to have them fax an order and they seem unable to get it right. There is no nurse on call for pre-op issues either.
