Was hospitalized with a medical issue at Emanuel. Saw dr Z twice, he listened to me and adjusted my meds. Feel like I'm back on track.

Dr Z treats mental health and knows his stuff. Met him at the hospital during a low point. Really appreciate teh time he spent with me and my family. Talked a lot about meds that would work for me adn I felt like he understood where i was at. Respectfull and felt heard.

Took my dad to see him for late-stage dementia in 2014. Our Providence GP recommended him. His office was easy to get to any parking was good. He did a memory test and gave us a diagnosis. MY dad saw him for a couple visits then his care transitioned back to the main doctor. His depression got better and the GP was really impressed wtih his notes.

I have OCD. I've seen a lot of psychiatrists. Dr Zalanka is a really good one. He has a lot of knowledge of treatments that are approved for OCD and anxiety disorders. He spends a lot of time talking to me about compulsions and made recommendations for therapists who do CBT and exposure therapy. He's also just really nice and talks to me about things I'm interested in, books I'm reading, and music I like to listen to. I feel really supported by him.

I have bipolar disorder and was at Good Sam for a couple of weeks with a heart problem. My doctor had Dr. Zalanka work with me to find the right bipolar medication. I thought he was really thorough and knew a lot about the latest treatment options. I was interested in TMS and he talked to me about that treatment and gave me some names of people who do magnetic therapy. Really good experience - would see him again and recommend him to anyone who needs a psychiatrist.
