Dr. Michael Yergler, MD

If you want someone who keeps it short and sweet and very straight forward he is the doctor for you.

The first visit I got an xray. Dr Y came in, looked at the xray, and said I have moderate arthritis and a bone spur. He h gave me a corticosteroid injection on posterior side of shoulder. I was to return in a month. Upon return he came in and asked if the shot worked. I replied no. He proceeded without further ado to get his aide to schedule MRi and a CAT scan and contact the insurance company for approval of a shoulder replacement. The aide said he would need to know what kind of shoulder replacement first. I was not included in any discussion of the matter.So I got a second opinion at the University of Chicago Med Center. The doctors interviewed me, examined the shoulder. I told them I had an injection in the posterior shoulder recently. I was asked who gave me that injection. They said posterior injections are for the rotator cuff and that I had no apparent problem there. They explained further and gave me an injection in the anterior shoulder. I haven’t had a problem since.

It was my first visit and need an mri. Dr Yergler was good and to the point.

While Dr Michael Yergler doesn’t have much of a bedside manner, he is pleasant. Above all, he does quality, corrective surgery that leads to a better quality of life.

Dr. Yergler is not a chatty person but I don’t need that. He’s an excellent surgeon and I have done well with my recovery so far.

Dr. Yergler was more personable the last time I was there. Didn’t seem to be in such a hurry to get in, thennget out.

Very negative. First time meeting with this doctor. He walked in exam room, looked at computer screen, asked how long condition has bothered me (10 months. Prior MRI had indicated cyst on hip), looked up, said 'I am a surgeon. This is not a surgical matter.' But, then he stated he would order another hip MRI to get to the bottom of the matter, and walked out. No acknowledgement of our presence, no how can l help. As stated in another review, arrogant and dismissive. A legend in his own mind. Cancelled follow up appointment. Will go to someone interested in taking care of the problem.

Very satisfied with procedure results and would highly recommend .

HE EXPLAINED EVERYTHING AND GOT INTO DETAILS.

First time patient with Dr. Yergler. When he came into the exam room, he immediately went to the x-ray and didn't address me. Based solely on the x-ray, he wanted to schedule a knee replacement. He did not ask me one question. Usually doctors ask things like, "What brings you in?" "Tell me about your knee." "What is your pain level?" "What makes it worse? better?" "What have you tried so far?" "Has your daily life been impacted?" "What part of you knee hurts the most?" NO dialogue with the patient (me). NOT one single question before he wanted to schedule knee replacement. Then, a few days later, when the summary of my appointment was available online, it was full of false statements. It was either written for another patient or written so that insurance would not question a knee replacement. It has now been over 6 weeks since I brought this to the attention of the doctor and the office manager. I have still not received a corrected summary of my visit.

Dr. Yergler lacks compassion and professionalism. Instead, these traits are replaced with arrogance and a dismissive attitude. He did not give me the time of day or attention. I had no chance to ask questions about my prognosis, treatment options. I tried to ask a question, but he was already walking out the door and essentially dismissed my question by mumbling some response as his back was to me and he walked to the next patient. Additionally, when he first got to the the room, he immediately went with his assistant to the computer and started dictating to her. Then, he left to review another patient's x-rays. I can't say enough how rude and dismissive this man is. He has no business interacting with patients. I get it, he may be a great surgeon, but he doesn't make people feel better. The one thing you want when leaving the doctor is to feel better (even if it's just being heard), but with him, I felt way worse walking out of the clinic.

Second visit was a lot better! Listened and gave me an idea of what to expect, and I appreciate this!

He jumped to conclusions, said he needed to go to a meeting cutting the visit short and leaving us without answers, I later asked for a copy of the visit and found he logged things that did not happen, and flat out made things up about the visit. I should have known better but took another family member there, Dr. Yergler totally missed diagnosed and said we had other things wrong in places we did not even have trouble with! We went to a out of town specialist and he gave the best exam and was right on with a solution to our knee problem. I would not recommend Dr. Yergler to any one!

My son had an ACL reconstruction surgery. Everything went perfect. Great staff and Mike was professional.

At every visit the Dr acts VERY bothered by questions that are asked of him and he explains as little as possible. There have been many times that he is downright rude and condescending, both during appointments and even on the day of my surgery! He ALWAYS acts very rushed during the appointments and does not take the time to properly explain things!

The Dr worked us in, took his time to review the MRI and X Ray. Explained what needed to be done, addressed our concerns and got my husband scheduled for surgery.

Dr. Michael Yergler was on time with my appointment. He had reviewed my x-rays taken prior to my appointment. He examined my shoulder, ordered one more x-ray. He then returned, looked at x-ray, ruled out a dislocation, and determined probable injured rotator cuff. He then ordered an MRI. He listened to my explanation of what I was feeling., Very business like, and very efficient and competent.

Dr. Yergler says he will find out what is wrong with my shoulder after 3 years of constant pain. My consultation did seem rushed. I didn't understand the medical terms but I have hope at this point. He is the last doctor I am trusting!

Dr Yergler has the experience and knowledge to get your issues taken care of and back to life as soon as possible! Thank you so much!
