Dr. Wright was the first doctor to actually listen to us and treat our son as a unique human and not just a textbook summary. The two other doctors we saw at this practice completely dismissed us as parents and threatened to remove him from the medications he needs. Dr. Wright was patient, encouraging, and our son is now thriving with his support.

Patient’s deserve better
As a healthcare provider I was shocked at how irresponsible and cavalier Dr. Wright was. I was told that they “may not even test for Covid” anymore. I was interested in finding a source for my 5 mo olds fever (who was exposed to Covid). He was very demeaning to me telling me either way “it’s just a virus and supportive care is the treatment.” I completely understand this (some non medical may not) but also believe it is socially responsible to follow the CDC’s guidelines (listed on the CVP website). He told me that his medical decision making has nothing to do with societal norms. I find this completely appalling that an MD does not care if we are spreading this virus to newborns or potentially immunocompromised individuals. I sincerely hope that he is not misinforming all of his patients. As a 5 month post partum, sleep deprived woman who works as a family practice nurse practitioner I felt completely belittled and misunderstood. Patients deserve better!

Poor listener, dismissive
His diagnoses was probably accurate, but his manner is dismissive and abrupt. I felt like I was bothering him by coming in, and my daughter was in tears after the visit because she felt like he didn't believe her when she described her symptoms.

Look elsewhere
He seems to not understand younger kid issues. Is hands off and almost dismissive with concerns. He literally questioned why we even came to the office due to our kid having a lingering fever and other symptoms. Didn’t want to run any tests. I don’t understand how he’s a children’s doctor. Choose a different Dr. if you can.

Dr. Wright has been our sons pediatrician for 16 plus years. He is wonderful interacting with our special needs son. Dr. Wright takes incredible measures to engage with our son and we are thankful he has been on staff during our sons life. Highly recommend .

Dr. Wright joined Centennial Valley Pediatrics in 1999 after working for Carepoint Emergency Pediatrics for several years. His special interests include minor trauma and asthma. Dr.  Wright enjoys running, cycling and playing golf.  He enjoys spending time with his wife and dogs.
