Disrespectful
I don’t know what happened, but usually this doctor is very understanding and sympathetic about my chronic condition. However, when I saw him yesterday he was very condescending and belittling my symptoms with pure arrogance. He was extremely rude and disrespectful which was so uncalled for given that I’m a very respectful person myself and I’m already dealing with bad health issues. When I tried to explain one of my symptoms, he responded with “that seems normal, I do this for a living, I know what I’m talking about”.. when in reality it’s definitely not normal and his ignorance clearly showed. Just extremely disappointed, his behavior threw me really off guard and I didn’t know what to say so I didn’t get the chance to stick up for myself . It seemed like he might’ve been having a bad day, but that’s not an excuse to take it out on innocent patients. I hate leaving bad reviews but this experience really left a bad taste in my mouth and I definitely felt the need to say something.

Very poor communication about the patient's issues
Dr. Weisner rates neutral on the friendly scale, neither good nor bad, BUT that is not why I go to doctors. He seems more interested in talking about himself and his life than listening and helping the patient. When you have an in-depth discussion about critical health issues affecting your life on the next visit, it is as though that conversation never happened. I can't say whether he is getting forgetful or whether it is because he really was not that focused on the patient's issues to start with. When you call the office, you get bounced to a different staff every time, so there is no continuity. When you send a critical message thru MYUPMC, they read the first line, assume they know the issue, and never look at the CONCISE issue, even if it is in uppercase. It is frustrating. It is sad to say, but this really is the poorest medical treatment I have ever had. My previous two doctors were excellent, but one retired the other moved.

I saw Dr. Weisner for the first time to establish care as a new Family Dr. He was amazing. He spent an hour and 40 minutes with me. He wasn't very familiar with my kidney disease (its very rare) but he researched and educated himself so he can better treat me. He went out of his way to call my surgeon at Johns Hopkins when he had any questions or needed guidance. He's made my health a priority! I can't recommend him enough. His staff was amazing also! So glad to finally have a caring PCP!
