Dr. Michael Sweeney, MD

Dr. Sweeney seemed very nice at first, until I began explaining to him my issues- suspected ovarian cysts and very irregular cycle. My pap smear was painful. He aggressively shoved his fingers inside me during my exam and I experienced cervical pain from the swab for days after. He did not verbally express to me what he was doing and when. He picked up my arm, which has multiple tattoos, and said 'looks like a toddler got into the crayon box'. He did not address my concerns about ovarian cysts, and instead, pushed birth control on me despite me saying I was not interested multiple times. He prescribed me meds to induce my periods and was sure to mention birth control once more before I left. His nurse was short and rude, and quite frankly, it was disappointing that she sat there in silence while he insulted my tattoos and was making me clearly uncomfortable. She saw my face of discomfort during the exam and said nothing. I wish I had advocated for myself, but I also shouldn't have to.

I have been going to Dr. Sweeney for 20 years now. He delivered one of my 3 babies with 2 other doctors at Bradford clinic delivering the other two. He has always provided excellent care and takes the time to answer all questions in detail whether it is OB or GYN related. His bedside manner is very professional yet comforting at the same time. He always makes a point to as how my family and I are doing. His nurse and staff are always very polite and compassionate as well.

Dr. Sweeney has been my doctor for over 20 years. He has always been so helpful and caring. He is the best.

I have been going to Bradford Clinic since before my son was born, which he is now 14 yrs. old. They even delivered him. I love Dr. Sweeney. He is always very personable, answers any and all questions, is thorough. The staff is very courteous and professional. They have always worked me in if I had an urgent situation, etc. The office is always clean and presentable and I've never had any complaints in over 15 years. I'm even out of network but refuse to change!

Dr. Sweeney expresses his opinions unprofessionally and at times very rudely interjecting his personal beliefs in to your health care. He has that cliche horrible bedside manner. He is the perfect doctor if you wish to have limited knowledge and no control over your prenatal care and birthing process. This mentality in the medical field is frankly archaic. I switched OB's.
