Dr. Michael Sternthal, MD

I waited over a month for an appointment with Dr. Sternthal, he's been my doctor for over 5 years. When I arrived, the front desk staff was rude and insisted on collecting the copay before I even saw the doctor. When I offered to pay in cash, the office manager came out and insisted that I needed to pay in full immediately and chastised me for not having a credit card to pay the full copay ... before I even saw the doctor. In the end, they effortlessly cancelled my appointment and I left the office without the healthcare I needed ... because of $75 ... This office puts money far ahead of patient care or compassion. I've always promptly paid any fees and costs incurred and I never carried a balance ... I was a patient for over five years ... but I'm a patient no more.

I was looking for a doctor for a colonoscopy. I called to ask questions because I was looking for a doctor. The woman that answered the phone was rude and had no customer service skills. She kept trying to rush me off the phone. The doctor should know that is your first point of contact and if thats the way she is going to treat me then perhaps that is the vibe in the office. I had simple questions and she didn't want to answer them. When trying to find a new doctor you should ask questions and go where you feel comfortable. I didn't get the chance to talk to the doctor because I was so put off by the woman that answered the phone. I found another place where they were kind and accomodating. Perhaps they just don't need the business that badly there. I'm a person, not just a source of $$$

Take his time to listen to patient.

Dr. Sternthal was Awesome. The entire team at Baptist Health was wonderful. The atmosphere they create was very pleasant. Everyone made me feel comfortable as I was nervous about my procedures. The entire team took their time explaining everything. They are a team of caring and kind Professionals.

Very informative has a great bedside manner always willing to go the distance for his patients I would highly recommend him to everyone that has Gastro, liver, intestinal issues

Dr. Sternthal is a great doctor who is compassionate and actually listens -- hard to find these days. I highly recommend him and his office to anyone looking for a GI!

Great Doctor! Explain procedures, dedicated time and answer all the questions. One of The front desk staff is not friendly but I understood due to there is many doctors and many people to attend. She can be more polite and less rude. Most important the nurses and Doctor is great ??

Dr Sternthal is a wonderful and caring doctor. He listens to my issues and is outstanding.

I had an appointment with Dr. Sternthal approx 2 weeks ago after not seeing him for a few years. He was very understanding and thorough in his exam. I highly recommend Dr. Sternthal for any and all GI related problems. My wait time was less than 5 minutes which I appreciate being a fellow health care professional who follows a schedule as close as possible.

I saw Dr. Sternthal on Wednesday February 13 he scheduled me for colonoscopy. I must say he is very easy to talk to he’s very compassionate understanding and I think he’s an excellent gastroenterologist I came in on the wrong day and he made time for me and it took them I don’t think I think maybe that the list for 15 minutes where I was already prepared prepped ready in a colonoscopy room I’ve never seen anything like this before any other hospital they are truly amazing I highly recommend

Scheduled for a colonoscopy and rectal repair. This is the second and last time I will go their. Did the colonoscopy(not the repair). We were rushed out of the office. Six hours later I had a 106 temperature but, also chills. Rushed to emergency. The polyp he found was removed but, he punctured through the second layer of my rectum thus, causing my body to go into septic shock. I had to have emergency surgery and was told I may die due to my condition. I had a heart rate of 31. NO follow up!

Dr. Sternthal is hands-down the best Gastroenterologist I have met ! His demeanor is calm, positive, thorough, attentive, flexible, and personal. We saw him at when we were very concerned about my husband’s health. Dr. Sternthal made us feel comfortable, asked us all the appropriate questions to establish what could be wrong. He then promptly scheduled all necessary tests. Lastly, I appreciated the follow-up and willingness to answer questions after the fact. A big Thank you to Dr. Sternthal !

Dr. Sternthal has been my gastro Doc since 2005 and I cannot say enough about how awesome he is! he takes his time with you, explains everything thoroughly, and listens to every concern you have, he is reassuring, and above all compassionate! he also has a pretty cool sense of humor which ease's the anxiety of seeing a doctor for sure! my brother and sister-in-law are also patients of his on my recommendation and echo exactly what I am saying here.

I particularly appreciate Dr. Sternthal. He is not one to rush off, but meticulously goes over the details of all questions and concerns (and it's never TMI). He pointed out visual aids that I could fully comprehend what is going on. His bedside manners are impeccable, and he has a way of de-stressing his patients. The facilities are state-of-the-art and pristine. The office staff is warm and caring. If I had to travel through two counties, I would to be under his professional care!

I am not sure if the Dr. is any good because I never made it long enough in his waiting room to see him. I had a 4pm appt. but was called the day before to change it to 12pm. I did saying I would go on my lunch hour. I arrived at 11:40am to fill out the new patient paperwork. I left at 12:40 without ever seeing the Dr. They said they still had no idea how long it would be. They also said once I was in back, I would wait again. Don't go unless you want to wait at least an hour.

Diagnosed my condition and solution correctly within 15 minutes being with him.

Dr Sternthal was wonderful, really listened to my concerns, and took his time with me to explain! He is a outstanding Doctor, and would recommend him to all my friends, and family! Thank you Dr. Michael Sternthal, you are awesome ????. Janice Donofrio

Compassionate and works hard to find and solve your issues. Easy to talk to and explains to the patient step by step. Very good diagnostician.

He's the best and knows what he is doing dr sternthal is very nice and cares about his patients a lot you go to him your in good hands going to him 13 years and when I first went to him another dr wanted to take out my gold bladder but dr sternthal said I don't think it's your goldbladder and and he was right he did a test so that was 13 years ago you can trust him good luck and only go to him you will be glad you did

Dr Sternthal got me thrown out of practice after being there 25 yrs. Used excuse I did not follow doctor recommendations which is a blatant lie. I have a specialist appn't. My Dr Katz is gone for health issues so I was stuck with follow up care with this doctor. Very rude, bad bedside manner. Didn't even do proper exam when I had colostomy surgery and need follow ups. I do not recommend this office. Unprofessional, cold, no compassion. Manager just as bad! Stay away find a new doctor.
