Dr. Michael Steinmetz, MD

I asked for a virtual second opinion from Dr. Steinmetz after having had spine surgery 9 months earlier with another doctor. The surgery had left me in greater pain than I originally had. In retrospect I wish I had consulted with Dr. Steinmetz prior to going forward with the operation. He was extremely thorough in assessing my current condition and advised that further surgery would most likely give me further relief for my back pain. His explanation was convincing and I am grateful for his honesty. I consider him to be an excellent doctor and appreciate the time he spent examining my MRI, CT scan and x-rays.

I, sadly have not had a good experience with Dr. Steinmetz. My husband was a surgical patient back in 2007. We were told after his back surgery he would be back to work in 6 weeks. Dan was totally disabled after the surgery. Sadly, I lost Dan at the age of 56 due to his pain issues which exacerbated many other health issues. We visited Dr. Steinmetz often after surgery and were very put off by his concern. after re evaluation from other surgeons, his surgery never took. I wish I had better things to say, but more, I wish I had my husband back.

Great Doctor. When you meet with him time stands still. You, and you alone, are his single and primary focus. There is no sense of urgency to get to the next patient. He answers all your questions and does not leave until you have completely exhausted your list of concerns. He continually praises his staff and gives credit to them rather than to himself. He is the model of what a physician should be!

I need this hardware out of my back asap, the office visit was hopeless, he was angry, because I told him about the wires exposed in my back, ,he did this on purpose, I contacted Medical Board, if he is a great surgeon, why did he expose me to this pain, if he was normal surgeon, it would of been removed already, he is making me suffer on purpose,

Dr. Steinmetz is a wonderful surgeon. My mother-in-law was in severe pain for several months, but after having surgery by Dr.Steinmetz , she is a whole new woman! She is able to move and enjoy life again! He has a wonderful, kind and gentle bedside manner and takes his time to explain things so we can all understand. His PA is excellent as well. Whenever we had questions, concerns or needs we received very quick responses. I would highly recommend him!

Performed a 8 level spinal fusion surgery. Very well educated and professional surgeon I have ever met. And I had 29 previous surgeries. Recommend to anyone. Great.
