Doesn't listen to patients, rushes out, minimizes your condition, doesn't explain anything and refuses to call you with results and next steps. Office staff horrible and beyond rude. Office manager literally called me screaming at me. They don't answer phones, don't return your calls, and won't send you your medical notes or lab results. Avoid at all costs.

Incompetent staff. Never met the doctor
Unfortunately i cannot leave no stars. We arrived at the office for an appointment, signed in and waited. After other patients were checked in my husband went to the desk and was told his appointment was canceled. After waiting 3 months to see a specialist, the doctor had a meeting and couldn’t see us. They rescheduled and i asked for confirmation of the telephone number they had and they had the wrong number. One of the women was totally disinterested and i cannot say I feel confident going there.

Dr. Shanik is very kind and has a nice sense of humor. He did a biopsy on me and asked several times if I was ok. He explained what he was doing and how much longer it would take. That was important to me. I disagree with the person who said the office staff were the worst staff. I found them very nice and friendly and helpful.

I had been seeing Dr Shanik for some time. This last time I had an appt. It took any where for 6 to 8 weeks to get in. Finally I go to my appoint. and the staff inform me that they no longer accept my insurance. They NEVER sent me a notice informing me. Also they had called me 2 days before that to ask I get a referral. So when I went to my appt. I HAD a referral. They would not accept it. They did tell me I could still see the Dr. if I paid out of pocket $130.00. There was someone behind the wall instructing the girl what to say. I could not see who it was. I find the Staff to be very unprofessional. I went outside and called the insurance company, they informed me they didn't know the Dr. office no longer accepted the insurance or they Would have sent me a letter to inform me. The Dr's office didn't even inform the insurance company. I would Not recommend this office even though I did like the Dr. This was Not the first time I had a problem with them.

Office help is curt and sometimes nasty. They do not respond to calls from pharmacy for medication renewals even after an office visit in which the physician tells you to continue your medications. When you call to ask why pharmacy request was not responded to they accuse you of harrassing them. I will change endocrinologists soon.

I was intimidated by the amount of people waiting the 2nd office visit I had but I was in within 15 minutes. Dr Shanik is very personable and pays attention when you are speaking with him. He explains the why's and the ins and outs of your condition.
