I have been seeing Dr. Sabel since 2010. I was pregnant (4.5 months) at the time and he did mastectomy due to Highly malignant Sarcoma and has done other surgeries at different times . I am very happy with him as I see him more often due to my rare genetic condition ( already had 5 cancers ). Couple of times he diagnosed the cancer prior to my whole body MRI / scans and I jokingly tell him that I am scared to see him too . I am a health care professional and his bed side manners are so good and he takes his time, answers all the questions . His team are also good and few of them have retired . Now being a veteran patient I can definitely say he’s the best and you are in safe hands .

Listens well and answers all questions honestly. Dr. Sabel has an outstanding team that will also openly respond to patient concerns. Just prior to surgery each team member voiced “no concerns.” Two very important words that brought instant relief.

Dr Sabel wasn’t afraid to contradict previous doctors- which I greatly appreciated. He validated my concern and was proactive with my care. I had a complication (not related to his care - had an allergic reaction that was not known previously) because of this he took the time to see me weekly. He also got me in quick to other specialist to expedite the recovery from the complications.

I was extremely pleased with the outcome of my recent lumpectomy - minimal pain & disfiguration. I appreciate that he is an advocate for lumpectomies (rather than mastectomies), as evidenced by his publications. It shows a level of empathy that not all doctors have. Dr. Sabel was very patient & compassionate in all interactions with me (as well as other interactions that I witnessed), even when he must have been tired from already having performed several surgeries that day.

I was not happy AT ALL with the experience my mom went through with Dr. Sable. She's dealing with stage 4 Melanoma and he doesn't seem to have a bit of concern. I understand he has hundreds of patients, but he wasn't good at explaining things to my family and I, he always seemed rushed, almost always was harsh with my mom and she got nervous and anxious talking to him because of his attitude. We are not happy how her surgery went and now have switched doctors.

Dr. Sabel did an excellent job explaining my procedure to me and had wonderful bedside manner before and after the surgery. Most imprtantly, he did a top notch job with a difficult surgery and I had no complications.
