My own experience with Dr. Reinhorn and his team mirrors all of the five-star reviews that I've read. From my initial consultation to surgery to post-op visit, I felt informed, reassured, and in the best of hands. Having surgery at Newton-Wellesley added to my trust. My recovery has gone incredibly smoothly. He exceeded my high expectations.

I had an inguinal hernia repair done by Dr. Reinhorn in late 2024. The process was pre-peritoneal with mesh.The entire process, from initial consultation thru the final stages of healing, was handled superbly. Dr. Reinhorn is truly an outstanding surgeon. After the operation I had only slight pain. Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen were all that was needed.Since the initial healing there has been no pain, numbness, or stiffness at the site of the repair. The scar from the incision was just over 1 inch in length, nearly normal skin color, and completely level with the surrounding skin. It is essentially undetectable. Nothing like this is ever easy or fun but Dr. Reinhorn and all who worked with him made it a very positive experience.I could not possibly give a higher recommendation. I am happy I made the decision to go with Boston Hernia and Dr Reinhorn. Never having any surgery since a child , having a hernia repair was not so thrilling. Even though Dr Reinhorns fee itself was not covered by Medicare , paying myself for the best was definitely worth it. He answered all questions that I had. I was very surprised that with Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen was all I needed and was off in four day's except at night. His video's are very helpful and answer every question. I was so glad to discover Boston Hernia and Dr. Reinhorn's perfected fast recovery preperitoneal inguinal hernia repair. His technique of placing the mesh on the inside of abdominal wall for added reinforcement and no general anesthesia made perfect sense to me. I was also impressed by the vast amounts of educational content and videos on their website. You will never find this type of detail, including post operative expectations and testimonials on a hospital website. Dr. Reinhorn and his staff were very professional taking the time to answer all my questions and concerns. I did not need prescription pain medicine nor did I experience any nerve irritation following the surgery. By the 3rd week, I felt good as new and back to my daily workout routine. I would highly recommend seeing a hernia specialist like Dr. Reinhorn over a typical general surgeon who is tasked with doing various types of surgeries, but never specializing in one type like Boston Hernia.

I am so glad I came across Boston Hernia when I was researching no mesh inguinal repair surgeries. From my initial consult, I knew I was at the right place.Dr. Reinhorn worked magic. I had surgery on a Monday. On Tuesday I was getting bored waiting for the pain to kick in so I grocery shopped and made dinner. By Wednesday I was back to work. I had some sensitivity in the area, but I never felt any real pain, at all.I am now five weeks out from surgery, and I am back in the gym. I am doing all the same exercises including light squats and deadlifts.The only thing I am not happy about, is that I waited four years to get it done. If anyone out there needs hernia surgery, I know a guy.

I had an inguinal hernia repaired by Dr. Reinhorn in September 2024. At the initial consultation he answered all my questions. He is very professional, knowledgeable and is a top-notch surgeon and an expert in his field. Boston Hernia also has a You Tube page that has numerous short videos that explain what to expect before, day of, and after surgery during recovery. During the period from the initial consultation to the day of surgery, and during the recovery period, these videos greatly helped me know what to expect and were very reassuring. View them if you have a hernia and are considering Dr. Reinhorn and Boston Hernia. The surgery was performed at Mass General Brigham Newton Wellesley Hospital. The hospital staff was excellent - professional, and friendly (as is the Boston Hernia PA and office staff). Everything went great! I live in Pennsylvania and am so glad I chose to travel the 6 hours to get my hernia repaired. I highly recommend Dr. Reinhorn and Boston Hernia.

I could not have asked for a more positive experience in connection with my surgery performed by Dr. Reinhorn. Having a favorable result is almost a given, and it was as much the interpersonal skills as the surgical skills that impressed me. He treated the symptoms, the condition, and above all, treated the patient! He was great at managing expectations and preparing me at each step of the process. Although he was busy, he took the time to listen which is a dying art. He developed and shared UTUBE talks on everything you need to know about hernia surgery and recovery. The videos were informative and worked to assuage anxieties attendant to the surgery.I also need to compliment the staff who are equally impressive. This is a practice that cares about the patients. While I hope to avoid similar surgeries in the future, I will look for Dr, Reinhorn if surgery is required.Thanks!

I had a Shouldice repair for my right inguinal hernia about a 1.5 months ago. Dr. Reinhorn was upfront and honest about the procedure, that recovery can be harder than mesh at first, but he did a fantastic job with the surgery and I am fully back to normal activities! The entire surgical team was professional, answered all my questions, and made the whole operation smooth. My recovery followed the timeline he lays out in his YouTube videos (very helpful). Very much recommend Dr. Reinhorn, especially if you are looking for a Shouldice repair without leaving the US. He exceeded my expectations throughout the entire experience, and I wouldn't go to anyone else if I have another hernia appear.

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Reinhorn. He explained what he was going to do clearly and answered any questions. I had gone to him several years ago to be checked out and he said that I didn't need anything done immediately but to keep an eye on it. The time came and the results were far superior to a previous hernia surgery I had.

I was referred to Dr. Reinhorn and the team by my occ health group. I was able to get in to see him in a timely manner and from the first time I met him and Lauren, I knew I was in good hands. I ended up having multiple hernias but that was not an issue for Dr. Reinhorn, this is his specialty. My surgery was scheduled at NWH, also a 5 star experience. Everyone associated with Dr. Reinhorn is profession, courteous and comforting. Dr. Reinhorn corrected my inguinal hernia with an open preperitoneal mesh repair. Dr. Reinhorn took the time to explain the procedure and related risks. The others on the team at Boston Hernia were also wonderful to work with. I am writing this review five weeks post-surgery and I have been back to normal activities, including the gym for the past three weeks with no pain. The procedure went very well – I was out of the hospital in 3 hours. Acetaminophen and ibuprofen was all that I needed for a few days for mild pain. I started walking as recommended and within a week increased to 10,000 steps a day as part of my recovery.
