Dr. Michael Michalske, DO

I came into the hospital with a post op infection from a surgery done by Dr. Michalske’s partner. He was covering for my surgeon. The wound became more red, swollen and painful in a few hours while he was covering, so the nurse paged him. He came to assess it and said he didn’t know what to do. Obviously the wound got more infected and he delayed treatment until the original surgeon came back to the office. He does not spend much time with patients and did not even exam the wound when he came to see me for the day. I would be very leery to have him perform surgery on myself or my loved ones.

Dr. Michalsky treated us with utmost respect and calmed our worries as we were transferred by ambulance from another hospital in Eagle River. He was thorough, explained everything to us in easy to understand terms and eventually did a surgery for my husband. We have only the highest regard and gratitude to him for guiding us through a frightening emergency.

Once again, Dr, Michalske has been a Miracle worker. After being very sick in January 2016,my 85 year old father subsequently had an Ileostomy reversal and has recovered well enough to go home. He lives alone in a remote area and Dr. Michalske was the only person who fully believed my father would be able to be independent and back in his home. My family is forever grateful to him. He is a one of a kind Doctor, who has spent an extraordinary amount of time with my Father.
