Blows off symptoms, doesn't care about root causes
I went to him for a check-up and to try to find relief from the chronic diarrhea I had. I explain to him that I've been having diarrhea regularly for years. He asks me to describe it then says, that's not diarrhea, it's just a loose stool. He explains that diarrhea is mostly only in third world countries and it is a constant thing that doesn't stop. I ask for a referral and he declines. I tell him I'm not leaving his office until he gives me a referral. He finally relented. Until that point, all he wanted to do was argue. It's like he doesn't trust patients to know anything about their own bodies.

he has little empathy. and seems to resist making referrals for specialists . asks few questions about me and my general health. He has not recommended or even discussed whether getting hepatitus or shingles vaccine are appropriate. did not put all the tests I should be receiving and had been recommended by previous Drs.

Have been seeing Dr Meredith for many years, as have other family members. He is always attentive and up to date on all medical matters. He explains his rationale for treatment extremely well. One of the best!

One of the worst doctors in the Duke Healthcare system. Dr Meredith blew off my symptoms, and did not address etither the cause or the cure for the condition And it was a very common condition: bursitis in my elbow. He said just take aspirin I asked how long I should take aspirin? He said, well just KEEP taking it. So I said, you don't know what it is, but I should just take aspirin forever? He said yes. I could NOT believe it and walked out. Incompetent!
