Poor bedside manner, no empathy
I had badly injured my knee, went to TWCO urgent care, had a MRI and saw Mike Meisterling for the follow-up diagnosis. I completely tore my meniscus off the bone where it attaches and stabilizes the knee. I only understood my injury after I read the radiology report -- not from the visit with him. He did not introduce himself to me or my partner. He did not examine me. He did not ask how I was feeling. He did not ask any questions about my exercise or lifestyle. Instead, he poorly explained the type of tear I had and with no empathy, delivered devasting news that I would not be able to do high-impact activity ever again. He made minimal eye contact. When I brought up pain management since I cannot take ibuprofin due to a GI disease, he said, "that's tough." His post-visit instructions were extremely vague. I sought a 2nd opinion at Mayo Clinic, and the experience was night and day. Note: I have since heard very good things about his surgeon brother Steve Meisterling, MD.

Very good, punctual, took plenty of time with me. Had cortisone shot in right shoulder. Already have less pain and more movement

I went in with shoulder pain which has been reoccuring. I got a cortisone shot which helped very much with the pain. At some point, I will probably have to have some kind of surgery done.

Dr. Meisterling is a very personable doctor. I’ve seen him many times over the past 3 years. He doesn’t rush in and out of the exam room like many doctors do. He was relaxed and spent time talking with me. I’m a veteran and was wearing my military hat. He asked me about my military service, and genuinely cared about my issue.
