Dr. Michael McGhee, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. McGhee for 25 years, starting in my late teen years. My children and husband have all seen him as well over the years. We got a surprise discovery after Dr. McGhee operated on my husband that he has a medical condition we were unaware of and cannot process out certain medications given for anesthesia well, leaving his body unable to function properly on its own. It is not an extremely well known condition, and had Dr. McGhee not have been knowledgeable and pro-active, that day could have gone so badly. Not only is he amazing at the medical part, surgical and non-surgical, but he is down to earth and has a great bedside manner as well. He is honest about diagnoses and treatments. He doesn't suggest excessive testing or unnecessary surgeries like some surgeons do. He is absolutely one of the best in the medical field and he has wonderful staff as well.

The first thing he said when he walked into the room was “are you faking this?”. How dare him. My husband never complains about his health and is NOT looking for pain medication. I am disappointed how he was treated. We have no answers. Go to UAMS for treatment.

Great! A doctor who has superior listening and diagnostic skills. Took care of voice problem in one visit. Super nice staff and I was seen right on time.

Dr McGhee, is a total angle very informative and explained everything to me! I will be back!

I went to see Dr. McGhee for swollen tonsils after being referred by my PCP. The office staff were great but it went downhill once I saw Dr. McGhee. He did not listen when I told him my tonsils were a problem. He said he didn't think that they were a problem and that I simply needed to eat softer foods after I told him I was choking on my food because of them. He didn't want to treat me and only after my insisting that it had been an ongoing problem, did he reluctantly prescribe steroids. He then tried to scare me away from the steroids saying they would make me emotional and then made a joke telling me not to choke on my food because the steroids would make me hungry. I was at a loss for words and have never felt so dismissed and embarrassed by a dr before.

dr mcghee done two of my surgeries for my nose issues. both surgeries failed due to him not caring about the work he does he cares more about the money than his patients he did not seem to care about me at all. WOULD NOT RECOMMENED HIM TO ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE IS AWFUL

Dr. McGhee is wonderful! I would recommend him to anyone who is going through sinus problems, his staff is great and easy to schedule with.

At the time, my son was only 1 month old the day we went to see Dr. McCgee due to being extremely tongue tied and having to get it clipped. My sons original PCP referred us to Dr. McCghee and I’m so glad he did. Extremely nice and will listen. He’s gentle and understanding. I will continue going there if amy problems arise between now and then. I highly recommend seeing him.

Truly one of the nicest people I've seen, and a great doctor, who really cares about his patient. All doctors should have a bedside manor like his! Thanks doc!

Dr. McGhee, I can't thank you enough for taking your lunch time to call my daughter to discuss my three year old grandson. We have been through ten (10) days of misery with her son suffering w/ multiple swollen lymph nodes-- fearing everything imaginable. I would recommend anyone to consider you first as an ENT, as you have much compassion and simplified lab results to my daughter that were misinterpreted by a Pediatric Clinic three times in a week; I can't thank you enough!
