Terrible Doctor
Telehealth
My wife was told by Dr Martinez that he would be able to implant a Nalu knee stimulator in her knee to help reduce the pain from a knee replacement that caused nerve damage. We did nothing but go back and forth to his office for over four months with no real explanation as to why he couldn't get the procedure scheduled accordingly. The only thing he was good at was making sure he collected this doctor's office visits fees. Terrible doctor, never came out of his office to speak to us about why he couldn't do what he promised us. Watch out with this doctor, make sure he doesn't sell you a bill of good.

Unable to schedule an appointment
My neurosurgeon faxed a referral twice to his office. Additionally, I left repeated voicemails over a two week period without any response. This practice displays a lack of compassion for patients in pain. Highly recommend going elsewhere!!

Before going to Dr. Martinez, I was in terrible pain and was told a lumbar fusion or multiple laminectomy procedures were my only options. I am so glad I went to Dr. Martinez for his opinion before going through with surgery. My pain level has decreased greatly. His expertise and skill level with Lumbar Epidural Injection is absolutely outstanding! I now get fewer injections and have less pain. Such a caring and compassionate Physician who takes the time to understand and treat your condition. I highly recommend him to anyone struggling with pain. Five Stars to Dr. Martinez and his skilled and friendly office staff!

Mike is a good guy. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't be able to walk without pain. Lightning quick with injections. This guy doesn't fool around at all! Friendly and professional staff who has empathy for my situation. Been a funny year due to covid, but will get through it. Mike is a good doctor, and a patriot as well! You have to respect that! Getting help for my neck very soon. Waking up with my arms numb and aching very badly! Losing a LOT of sleep, and raising a daughter, having lost my mother suddenly in Aug, and also caring for my 79yr old father, I am thankful for his help.

As a current employee for Dr Martinez (ProActive Pain Care) I can say he’s one of the best providers I’ve ever worked with. His sympathy and empathy does not end with patients. He truly cares about each and every staff member. I’ve worked with him in the past and now with him at his own private practice. He has truly been an amazing provider to work for. I am so grateful that he choose me and gave me the opportunity to work with him at his private practice. It has taken me 10 years to find a provider to work with like him and now that I have found him I anxiously anticipate growing with him and his practice.

Dissapointing to say the least. Good with treatments, but won't presrcibe proper pain management meds. I don't believe he understands people who are in legitimate pain at all. To throw out "the opioid crisis" is nothing more than an excuse to deny people who legitimately need help, the help they need. Still a patient at the moment, but looking for a professional who is actually going to help with my daily pain. It comes down to a quality of life issue, and he is rather indifferent about actually helping me with my pain. Everyone I've talked to was stunned over his overall attitude. Everyone who needs pain meds are not all junkies at all. Suffered long enough, and will find help. I don't believe he's ever had to experience the pain I've been in, and go through daily, and that's the major issue here.

Dr. Martinez is an amazing physician who is kind, compassionate, and truly cares for the well-being of his patients. He is so wonderful that when I found out that he had left the practice I was going to, and open a practice in Bonita Springs, I had no hesitation in following him. I have to drive 45 minutes longer to see him now, but he is such a wonderful, caring doctor the drive is worth it! He is unable to accept my insurance at this time so I pay out of pocket and would not consider going to another doctor, because there is no doctor like him. He is also my daughters’ doctor and the only doctor who has taken the time to listen to her and is very understanding and has helped her in so many ways, she has a very complex medical history. He is a very compassionate, professional, understanding doctor that I would not hesitate to recommend him over and over again.

Dr Martinez took time to discuss my issues and explain recommendations for a plan moving forward. He listened to, understood my concerns and addressed them. He took time to discuss my issues and didn't make me feel rushed in an effort to get on to the next patient. I will most definitely be recommending him to all who may have the need for his services.

Dr Martinez visited me at Health Park hospital after being there a dreadful 23 days having been through 2 surgeries being diagnosed with severe malnutrition due to Gastroparesis and awaiting transfer to Shands, he was the rudest man I have ever met in my life he profiled me due to having a feeding tube and said I was opiate seeking having opiate induced anger and said I don’t deserve any pain medication and he’s removing all opiates from my chart. Did I fail to mention I have lost 100 lbs.
