Extremely effective specialist
Dr. MacAdams is a very fine medical doctor and diagnostician. I have been his patient for a while and I will attribute my well-being and diabetes (DII) success to his recommendations and treatments. I am constantly updated by his careful considerations of my case and I get my questions answered clearly and completely. I will have to say that I have become healthier under his care and I would recommend his office to anyone who is wanting to improve.

Not worth the hassle!
I like Dr MacAdams but his office staff is impossible to work with. They are rude and refuse your requests for your own data. HIPPA rules state we are to receive any record upon request. It’s our data not theirs. I’ve been trying for over three weeks to get copy of my last labs and they come up with one excuse after another why they can’t do it. They lie and tell you they’ll send a copy in the mail but it never arrives. They are the most obstinate, ill mannered group of incompetents I’ve ever encountered. It’s not worth the hassle to go there.

Zero stars isn’t an option!
The “care” you receive from the md is NOT WORTH deals no with the office staff. He makes changes to your medications and then doesn’t want to see you for at least 3 months?! Doesn’t care enough to want to see you in a month to see if his changes are helping. Meanwhile, the diabetes gets worse and more out of control! The “manager” is md’s wife and a flat out …..! So rude and unprofessional and sets the tone/example for the office staff and how they treat the patients. As an RN of 40+ years, I highly recommend you avoid this place at all costs! It isn’t worth your health deterioration. PLEASE AVOID THIS OFFICE FOR YOUR OWN HEALTH SAKE!

Very disrespectful. Still paranoid of COVID requiring masks, allowing seating in every other seat, & required proof of COVID vaccinations for me to accompany my husband, Doesn't listen. Requested tests that had been done just 10 days before even though I had provided those results to him. Got upset because my husband had wet himself & was sitting on "his" chair telling me he did not appreciate it & not to let my husband sit on any furniture. Won't go back.

Extremely unsympathetic staff
Staff is rude and insensitive. Refill requests are not filled until you have left 3 or 4 messages. RUN as fast as you can to ANY other office. Wish I could leave no stars.

Still waiting on a phone call-
Dr. Listens, does his part-front staff, except for Barbara, are ridiculously rude-never get call back with results and med changes-I did speak directly to Dr. MacAdams about this. I’ve called multiple times with no call back. My meds/dose are determinant on labs. I’ve had the results in hand from quest for over a week. Still no phone call from “the nurse” who is the doctors wife!!! Conflict of interest maybe??? She’s even hung up on me. It’s so frustrating!! My latest appointment was June 10th labs done in office that day! Still waiting for call and today is June 24th!!!

Awful office staff!
Office staff is rude! You cannot get test results in a timely manner. You cannot get referrals to a surgeon in a timely manner. If I could get into another endocrinologist I would never go there again!

Customer service? More like customer mistreatment.
The doctor was OK. Not great, but OK. But two of the office staff(one of whom I later discovered was the Doctor’s wife) were ridiculously rude and literally insulting. I would rather go be with Jesus than step foot in this office again.

Rude
The Dr is very knowledgeable but his front staff is horrible. I ask for the lady name who called me she told me she didn’t have to give me that information. My son had an appointment and when he called to confirm on date and time she told him he didn’t have an appointment set up and that she would have to give him a call back. She never called him back she called me a week later saying that he didn’t make it to his appointment date I told her no you were supposed to give us a call back. She said I don’t have to talk to you hw is 19 and hung the phone up on me. This is horrible customer service people are really needing help there for that’s why they go to this dr but the front staff makes it so hard on others. Why work in this field if you are so unhappy and unsympathetic.

Dr. Macadams was a great doctor, but his staff have much room for improvement. I have been trying to get financial assistance on my insulin and all I needed was his SIGNATURE, but his staff never delivered it after a month of trying. All I wanted was help to afford my meds but they had no compassion for my situation.

I was left on hold foreverrrr (18 min!) and no one never answered. It eventually began to ring again then went to a voice mailbox. My mom lives off of SS and they charge her a $40 co pay with Medicaid coverage for every visit. I used my work phone to call while on hold with my cell phone and STILL it rang, with no answer. Good thing it wasn't an emergency. TERRIBLE customer service.

Would I recommend Dr. MacAdams? Definitely. Have I had good experiences at the office? Not lately. Several months ago I was given a COVID questionnaire before going in and I checked off that I had a cough and sore throat. After waiting outside for an hour I was called in. They checked my pulse and weight then someone rushed in and said "We're going to have to ask you to leave." I was told that I had checked off too many symptoms on the questionnaire. The one I filled out an hour and a half before. On 8/7 I tried to call in a prescription for test strips and was told by his answering service that the office was closed through 8/9 but the doctor was being given messages. I called today (8/9) to verify that the office was closed and today's appointment was cancelled. The answering service told me that the office would be closed through 8/13. I guess I'll buy the strips OTC; at least I'm good on insulin. I wasn't notified by the office about either closing until I happened to call.

I’m understanding and patient about the COVID situation but when you wait 1 1/2 hrs in car and the wait another 1hr to see dr. MacAdams. Did lab and have been waiting for 2 months on results and no medication re-fill. Go to office to get results and receptionist took messages and told to wait out side. No consistency. Not coming back to this office. Dr. MacAdams you need a better system to get lab results and medication refills

Dr. MacAdams is a wonderful doctor. I feel like he listens to me. He has really helped me with my diabetes. But, I dread going to my appointments because of the frontline staff. Never have I been treated so rudely and condescending by so called “professionals”. It really doesn’t matter what you need from them either. Appointments are made but might be or might not be written in the appointment book (this has happened at least 3 times to me and my husband) medication is needed but might be or might not be called in. The office states they do not send prescriptions electronically. I was appalled at one staff member who I believe spoke untruthfully. I am disappointed to see that the staff does not take pride in their work in assisting patients and Dr. MacAdams in the high quality of care patients deserve. I’m wondering if anyone has addressed the problems they have had with Dr. MacAdams directly? As I write this review my husband is writing a formal complaint to Dr. MacAdams.

I went with my hard-of-hearing husband to his appointment. I have never been treated so rudely by EVERYONE there - except the nurse. Dr. MacAdams was extremely condescending. I was trying to communicate with him on my husband's behalf, but with everything I said he barked back at me like I was a blooming idiot - and I'm not. At the end he just got up and walked out. I didn't know whether to follow or stay put - he had me afraid to do either because up to that point I hadn't said or done anything that he wasn't completely annoyed with. I was trying my hardest to understand and communicate with him. I didn't complain about a thing. I was trying to understand the advice he was giving and was appreciative - I really don't know what set him off. It was actually comforting to read the other posts on here to know it wasn't just me. Find another doctor. We are.

Front office was pleasant. Nurse in back was great. The doctor was not concerned and did not address my weight gain and extreme fatigue issues with the medicine. Just continued what my pcp had started. In no way concerned about my quality of life and was a bit condescending. Wait time was past the point of ridicolous. Make sure you clear your whole day. The phlebotomist was awesome.

After reading all the reviews from people and going there myself my recommendation is to never go there!. The doctor is great but the bad stuff greatly outweights having a good doctor. Here's a list of the bad stuff I found: 1. The stuff is incredibly rude. After my appointment it has taken more than 3 weeks for me to get a prescription for insulin to reach the pharmacy. If you try to get an insulin pump or a glucose reading prepare yourself to call constantly to ask them to do their job for weeks. Once the job is done it is often not done correctly and things have to be redone. They don't deal with insurances and it will take a great amount of effor to make them do a prior authorization (which is a very standard procedure for insurance to give you diabetes supplies). 2. The waiting times are very long. 3. A third party requesting information from the doctor's office would become you pushing them to do the information to the third party. So, my recommendation is to never go there.

My grandfather went to see him for relief in his back (not sure why he was referred there) and Dr. Macadams did not do a thing for him. Ran labwork, then suggested meds that he was told the PT could not take. He said “well, I guess that’s it then”. Wasted everyone’s time.
