My sister went in to see Dr. Koumjian with a high risk of mortality. He came into the appointment saying 'what a day I've had.' He was supposed to order the CT scan from the hospital, which he hadn't done. He said you need to get that to me ASAP, this is life or death. Then said he would order another CT Stat and told her to keep her blood pressure down and left the room. They NEVER even took her blood pressure or any other vitals. The CT disc was dropped off at his La Mesa office the next day, which was 6 weeks ago. We still have not received a Stat CT order from him nor have we heard from Dr. Koumijan so have no idea if he ever looked at the scan that was dropped off. Also they never answer the phone. It always goes to an answering service, messages are left but no return calls. We have since seen another Cardio Thoracic surgeon, who had the CT when we arrived, took her vitals, put her on additional medication, and ordered another CT. Fortunately she didn't die waiting for the second referral.
