Best Surgeon for Colorectal
My husband has seen Dr. Jobst for the last 6 years for surgeries related to his Crohn's. He has had multiple Setons put in place and replaced. You will have sometimes a longer wait time in the room, however, it isn't because he doesn't care. He ensures there aren't any questions that you may have before he leaves. This sometimes puts him behind. We have never felt rushed and he always has the best bed side manner. My husband also had an ileocecal resection (removed 10 in of large and small intestine) that was performed by Dr. Jobst. My husband's joint pain caused him to go to Mayo in MN. They did a colonoscopy and saw the work that Dr. Jobst did on the intestine. Apparently, (because I'm not a Dr.) there are Dr's who will take the two end of intestine and overlap then sew them together. This can cause 'stuff' to get caught. Dr. Jobst sewed the ends together 'butted up together' much harder to do, but much better for the patient. Mayo gave Dr. Jobst 2 thumbs up and so do we.

Dr Jobst performed colon resection surgery on me in January. Thanks to Dr Jobst's skilled surgery, my recovery has been amazing, never any pain and I'm back riding my horses. Dr Jobst has a stellar bedside manner; patient and reassuring. His team, PA Diana and nurse, Heather are wonderful and spot on with their care.

Dr.Jobst performed a rectal prolapse surgery on me in October, 2020. It failed within a few months. He told me I would have to find a surgeon at Mayo or elsewhere who could perform a colostomy (!), which is all he suggested, & I have not consented to. That was all he said. Sadly, to this day, I remain sad & angry & feel helpless. If you or someone you love needs rectal prolapse surgery, find someone who will explain the procedure & pitfalls in great detail & then ask ask a million questions!

I cannot say enough about Dr. Jobst. He cared for my mother who had a rectal prolapse. We came to him after several doctors brushed us off and finally one referred us here. He was caring, understanding and most knowledgeable. He treated us so well and my mom is doing amazing! As my mother said she would give him as many stars as possible and feels God led us to him. Thank you Dr. Jobst and staff for giving us our mom back.

I had a robotic distal colon resection by Dr. Jobst. I had less pain 2 hours post operative than the previous 2 years. I was in the hospital CHI St Elizabeth for 2 days. Recovered at home with no pain meds other than over the counter meds. Heather his nurse was helpful in all aspects of pre and post operation, including the FLMA forms! Thank YOU !!!

Dr. Jobst saved my life. I have the utmost respect for him and he has the kindest bedside manner. He took care of me better than I could ever have imagined and always kept me informed what was going on. He never left me in the dark or confused. He used words I could understand and explained what was going to happen. Today, two and a half years later, I am alive and thriving because he went in after the cancer and he got it all! My cancer is gone! And my oncologist agrees!!!!

His reputation precedes him. He's not only a brilliant surgeon who does his homework, he's an incredibly nice guy with excellent bedside manner. I would, and did, trust this man with my life having a right hemi colectomy for a pre-cancerous growth, all while having COPD and being morbidly obese. I was up and about 36 hours later, and had a bowel movement within 48 hours. Now, 7 days later, other than some pain I am functioning almost normally. Thank you Dr. Jobst, I owe you my life.
