When I was researching a Surgeon for hip replacement surgery, I had the unpleasant experience of Dr. Highhouse telling me that it was my back & not my hip that was creating such incredible pain. He sent me to a spine surgeon across the parking lot, who said my back was a mess, but it was my hip that was causing the issue. I felt like a football that no-one wanted to intercept. I proceeded to Methodist Sports Medicine, and found a competent surgeon that actually took x-rays & an MRI...how novel!!! Diagnosis; congenital shallow hip sockets & bone on bone. Hip replacement was quite necessary.

My mother had an appointment with Dr. Highhouse. She was there a total of 90 seconds before he dismissed her and said there was nothing more he could do. He asked maybe a total of 2 questions and like others have mentioned lacked any warmth, compassion, concern or creativity when it comes thinking outside of the box. I’m incredibly disappointed and surprised that my mother’s colleague even referred her to this doctor. I would not recommend Dr. Highhouse for orthopedic care.

He got pissed at me because I sought out a second opinion!!!!! Yelled at me during my next appointment!! Told me to get out of his office! Within a month, my bi-sep blew out on the shoulder he did surgery on. Hurt unbelievably!!! If you respect yourself, avoid this poor excuse for a surgeon.

I had knee replacement surgery two years ago and it was so successful. I drove after two weeks and now I can get down on all fours and hardly can tell I have a replacement knee. Never think about it. I’m 75 yr old woman. I thought Dr Highhouse was personable and supportive. Have recommended him personally many times.

I had a broken ankle when I first met Dr Highhouse and he took great care of me, I recommend him to everyone who asks and he has taken care of many people in my family and circle of friends. His main concern is always the patients well being never doing unnecessary surgery. Just today he worked on my granddaughter and can't imagine trusting her to anyone else

The worst doctor possible. I had an avulsion fracture in January 2017 it's presently August 2017 and after paying thousands of $ in medical expenses, I recently received a new bill for $46.00 for an x-ray reading and report. By the way my ankle remains swollen and in pain. The health system in Lafayette is full of small town doctors lacking new age medicine and technology. NEVER AGAIN!

My son hurt his knee skiing. Dr. Highhouse reviewed the MRI and stated confidently that he needed ACL surgery and was ready to schedule. We got a second opinion in Indy which stated that the ACL was in fact intact and would improve over time with NO surgery. We tried to call Dr. Highhouse to talk about the differing opinions. Over MANY calls to the office, NO call was ever made to answer our questions. 6 months now with no surgery my son runs, plays ball and new MRI confirmed ACL intact. INSANE!
