Dr. Michael Hedemark, MD

Dr. Hedemark has been our family physician for years and provides very friendly, professional care. He is knowledgeable and does an excellent job on follow-up on any health issue. It is remarkable to retain the enthusiasm and joy he seems to obtain from caring for patients. As a retired physician, I would judge the care and services rendered by Dr. Hedemark as veryexceptional and we greatly appreciate having him as our physician.

Dr. Hedemark takes excellent care of both my parents. He is compassionate, kind and has a fun personality, even when they are less than forthcoming. He always takes the time and effort needed to understand the symptoms, then puts together all the pieces to diagnose even the most obscure condition- a real talent! His knowledge of the most current evidence-based practice is impressive. We also love his office staff. Checking in/out and talking with his nurse is always a pleasure.

In the course of our lives we have to choose varying types of Physicians for our health care requirements. When we came to Idaho several years ago we chose ST Luke’s Health Care System. We have had excellent care from all their Physicians and nurses. However recently we had to choose a new physician. We wanted an Internist and Dr. Michael D. Hedemark was receiving new patients so we chose him. After 2 years we have found his skills are invaluable for he is exacting and professional in his abilities with an expertise that brought my husband through a difficult time. He is tenacious when trying to find the help you need to get well and he does not give up. He is also very compassionate and listens to what you have to say. He also has a great sense of humor. Dr. Hedemark is the most outstanding physician I have ever know. He takes a direct interest in your health; his patient approach is professional and from my perspective he is seriously interested in your overall health. I can't say enough good things about him.

Best doctor ever!

Dr. Hedemark is the most thorough physician I've ever seen. His responses to my questions and explanations of health conditions and factors were complete and understandable. He seemed genuinely interested in my overall health and particularly preventive health care.

My husband, parents, daughter, and I have been seeing Dr. Hedemark for many years, and I am so grateful for the care he has given us. He is very attentive and thorough during visits and has a terrific personality and sense of humor (he once sent me the results of my blood work saying that I had disgustingly perfect cholesterol). On a selfish note, I hope that Dr. Hedemark has an unnaturally long life and chooses to never retire, because I would hate to try to find a replacement for him.

Dr Hedemark is one of the best doctors I have ever seen. He is very knowledgeable and caring. I have been a patient of his for several years and when compared to other doctors that I have seen he is the very best.

Dr. Hedemark has been my family physician since he started at St. Luke's. I have found him to always be very professional, friendly, caring & knowledgeable. He listens and responds in a manner that I can understand. He has always been willing to work with other professionals involved with my numerous medical issues. He has subsequently become a treating physician to many of our immediate family and he also cared for my mother before she passed away. I would recommend him to anyone.

He is timely, yet is never rushed with me. He listens closely and pays attention to my concerns and addresses them in a gentle fashion.

Very personable and interested in treating his patients who have health problems.

I became a patient of Dr. Hedemark 7 years ago. He reviewed my health condition and made major changes in my medications (i.e. he took me off of a blood pressure medication that was not necessary since my blood pressure is normally about 120 over 65) and found an un-diagnosed condition (herniated aorta) that had went undetected. Dr. Hedemark is friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and in my judgement an outstanding health care provider.

Dr. Hedemark is a very compassionate doctor, listens carefully to my needs and wants, discusses treatments and recommendations carefully and to my satisfaction. He and his staff have always been friendly, courteous and professional. He works with my team of doctors and makes sure I am not over medicated and coordinates my care.

Dr. Hedemark has made an amazing difference to my health. He carefully listened to my complex medical history and symptoms and created a personalized care plan that has given me a new lease on life! He is so compassionate and friendly that going to the doctor is like visiting a friend. He takes all the time I need, never rushes through my visit, and sees me as a whole person, not just focusing on the one thing I made the appointment for. Great choice if you're needing a doctor.

He's condescending and doesn't have a good bedside manner

He would be better behind the scenes instead of seeing actual patients. He's not a good listener and his treatments aren't always the best for his patients. He doesn't have a good rapport with his patients. He's very controlling and tries to force patients to take treatments that they don't want. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone.
