Dr. Michael Greene, MD

At least on 2 occasions after coming to see Dr. Greene for my annual physical, I was overcharged. My annual physical is covered 100% as a preventive visit. What happens is that the doctor would ask you a few questions about your health, for example if you have sleep problems. Once you say that you don't sleep well, he would offer to prescribe sleeping pills. Later they send you a bill for the office visit even though you only came for the covered annual physical. I was told by their billing person that a doctor is supposed to inform a patient about additional charges if a doctor discusses other health issues. Dr. Greene never warns a patient. I find this dishonest. Also, some employees, like Mary (who refused to provide her last name) are very rude. I suggest people stay away from this doctor's office.

I saw Dr. Greene in 2020 with some unusual lab numbers and a slightly high creatine. He was unconcerned even though I had protein in my urine. Turns out I was in imminent kidney failure. Had he followed up I might have been better informed and prolonged the need for transplant or dialysis. Totally ineffective doctor, the casual attitude to test results does not work for everyone and waiting is not always advisable. Don't trust his opinion.

My wife and I were patients of Dr Greene's for over 10 years. Over a 2 year period I had microscopic blood in my urine that Dr Greene said he would follow, but never did anything about. After the 3rd year of this I switched doctors only to find out I have Bladder Cancer. If it had been caught earlier I would still have my Bladder. Dr Greene did not do the proper follow up, including referring me to a Urologist who was able to diagnosis my cancer with a quick scoping of my bladder.

Dr. Greene is exceptional...Kind and warm personality...A highly capable, qualified physician...He is patient, efficient, and comprehensive...He has a good sense of humor. Dr. Greene takes the time to perform a good physical exam. As a physician myself, one who is highly critical of others, I'm happy to say that this man is the best I've seen in decades!

Dr. Greene is an outstanding doctor! He is highly insightful in not only in the diagnostic but in the prognosis, and cutting edge in his ability to treat the problems with the right solutions. He is very personable, and takes all the time you need with him to answer all the questions you have. He is sensitive to the wellness goals of the patient and endeavors to treat issues towards that end.

This doctor charge extra if you are a new patient. My insurance covered in full for the annual physical exam, but I paid $62 just because you are the new patient.

Dr. Greene is a throwback to the days when a physician actually listened to you before making assumptions. He is not ruled by the law of averages when it comes to test results and the latest popular beliefs. His office is intimate and personal. You might not get lab work completed on-site, but you will have a rational discussion with a compassionate practitioner. Best doctor I've seen since moving to DC area 7 years ago.

I have been a patient of Dr. Greene for 15+ years. He always gives you the time you need with him, down to earth, practical and cares. Great staff who have been with him for years and are always professional, very pleasant and efficient. He will go out of his way to see you if it is important on short notice, is very easy to talk to and very capable.

Staff is alert and responsive, but most importantly - Dr. Greene shows a level of compassion that's not prevalent these days. He will spend as much time with you as needed, will listen, and will describe his plan in detail. Next visit, he is prepared and remembers this patient, and gets down to business. I wish more doctors were like Dr. Greene!

Very good office proceedures. Very quick getting back to you with your results. Able to make appointments with little notice.

Does the right thing, makes the right decision, refers to excellent specialist, great demeanor

Dr. Greene is a super-star-- the finest primary care doctor I have ever experienced. He has a warm and engaging style with great interpersonal and communication skills to match his tremendous practical insights and take-away value for the patient. He is very hands-on--greeting me in the waiting room, demonstrating a special exercise routine, and following up with a voice message on my blood results. His office staff are friendly and competent. Dr. Greene is best of the best in N. Virginia.
