Dr. Michael Gentry, DO

Dr. Gentry is one of, if not the BEST OBGYN around. He is very knowledgeable and will actually take time with you as a patient. Would recommend him to anyone!

Was told transvaginal mesh surgery would correct my problem. Had an infection from the surgery was not able to see him. When I finally saw him, I was told that medicine wasn’t an exact science. But had already paid thousands of dollars for the surgery and still had the problem. Would not recommend him.

He’s really sweet understanding will listen to your concerns and explain everything to you without having to wait all day but staff are very very unfriendly since he’s been in Greenwood even the ones that come and go Abbeville had an excellent staff that was so friendly and would go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and happy to accommodate your needs he really really needs to find a whole new staff and interview and put them on a trial basis not only for office experience but customer and friendliness experience

I went to the hospital on December 25th 2016 for pain. They did a urine culture and gave me meds for a UTI. Two days later the hospital called and said my urine was contaminated. I went to Gentry on December 29th 2016 for extreme pain that wasn't going away. I also told him that my discharge was a funny color. Without checking anything he told me that I didn't have a UTI. I miscarried my son at 16 weeks on December 31st 2016. My son tested positive for a bacterial infection.

He's a great doctor . He isn't always sure what he's talking about .. Me & one of my old friends go too the doctor office and he's gave us a lot of stuff too worry about . i recently became pregnant again & he told me i had throyid i was test for it twice and i don't have it . I'm not comfortable with being told i have something and don't have it because it makes me worry a lot ; he should really know for sure before telling his patients they have something when they don't !!

I've been going to him for 25+ years. I started seeing him when he took Dr. Parham's place. I called to get an apt. For a UTI or have him call something in and was told he could see me NEXT week b/c he was double/triple booked. The staff Didnt consult him or a nurse. Nobody stays for a long time so they aren't personable and are often Incredibly rude. A UTI isn't life-threatening but isn't something that needs to be left alone for several days without being treated properly.
