I saw Dr. Ferrell for shoulder pain, first my right in 2016 and then my left in 2018. I have waited to write this review to report my long term experience. I am in my early 60's and found it takes a full year to completely recover from shoulder surgery and get my full strength back. Thanks to Dr. Ferrell and his PA, Kara Haskell, today I am completely pain free, and have my full range of motion. I am very happy with both of these professionals in the way they communicated and took their time to explain the process of my shoulder repairs. I was able to get appointments quickly and follow up scheduling of MRI's and surgery were prompt so I did not have to endure the pain any longer than necessary. I highly recommend both Kara Haskell and Dr. Michael Ferrell.

Dr. Ferrell is AMAZING!!! I had been having hip pain for months and nothing was helping so I came in to see him from a referral from my physical therapist and he was able to tell me what it was right away. I ended up having FAI with a labrum tear, so it was going to be a rough road back to where I was before my injury.....or so I thought! Dr. Ferrell did such an amazing job that I was one of the fastest recoveries my physical therapist had ever seen when having this surgery. I am back to running and lifting everyday like I didn't just have surgery 3 months ago!!! I will recommend him over and over!

Dr. Ferrell and his team are outstanding. We visited multiple doctors to try and diagnose the cause of my daughter's hip pain. We were referred to Dr. Ferrell who was able to tell us what was wrong (FAI and labrum tear) and explained in detail the surgery and recovery. He took the time to answer all our questions which made the whole process so much easier. Thank you!

Dr. Ferrell replaced my left shoulder two years ago. It was, and is, a great success. All aspects of the process were excellent from the hospital stay through the recovery period. The recovery from the surgery was far less painful than I had been led to believe. Although I had not know this beforehand, Dr. Ferrell trained at one point under one of my closest friends. My friend raves about his skills and commitment to his work. I agree and gladly recommend Dr. Ferrell without reservation.

Dr Ferrell is an outstanding individual. I had bilateral FAI with town labrums. We tried a conservative approach with PT and cortisone injections but dr. Ferrell ended up doing surgery on both hips. I was confident with his assessment and knowledge of the injury. Great bedside manor and easy to communicate with. Thanks Dr Ferrell. Luke

I was very pleased with the results of my knee surgery from Dr. Ferrell. He is very personal and led me through what would happen from the very beginning. Surgery was on time, PT was great and I would recommend Dr. Ferrell to anyone who has to go through the Arthroscopic knee surgery. I had this same procedure done Sept. 2018 from a different Orthopedic group and never recovered from it. I am a walker and never got back to my 4 mile walk at that time. Now, I am back doing my 4 miles with no problems.

Let's just say Dr. Ferrell is one of the best orthopedic doctors that I have had the pleasure of meeting, and received treatment from, not enough words that I can think of to explain how great his empathy and caring nature is. Let's just say in my 62 years I have seen plenty of orthopedic surgeons, I'm a little accident-prone, he's got to be one of the best. He has the ability to communicate exactly what's going on in a very compassionate and intelligent way, in such that it doesn't make you feel uninformed or bewildered with the care you're receiving. If you have a orthopedic issue Dr. Ferrell and his staff and Associates are the go to team in Southwest Montana!

I went to Dr. Farrell for evaluation and eventual surgery for my shoulder. Torn rotator, torn bicep and other "cleaning up" of the shoulder. From the beginning of the evaluation through to the end of follow-on exams nearly 5 months later, I had absolutely no concerns or problems. He and his staff were extremely attentive, communicated well, and answered any/all questions I had. I would definitely recommend him.

I liked Dr. Ferrell's office staff - they were friendly and efficient. I had one problem with scheduling but they made it work. My appointments always started on time. I had second thoughts about having the surgery the day before it was scheduled. Dr. Ferrell reassured me that it was my decision, just let him know. I went ahead with the surgery and am glad I did. I would recommend Dr. Ferrell to anyone.

Dr Ferrell and his team of PT people have been great to work with after a fall elk hunting and totally rupturing my quad tendon they have me put back together and back out hiking the hills les than 4 months after the reconstruction surgery. I can not speak highly enough of all the great people at the Bridger Orthopedics West office they have communicated very well and very clearly about the severity of the injury and the needed protocol to have a full recovery. Thank you to all. Eric Burdette

I’ve worked as an ICU RN for 18 years and I can’t stress enough how remarkable my entire experience with Dr. Ferrell was! I blew my knee out in the summer & earned myself a cadaver ACL. Dr. Ferrell’s bedside manner is genuine. His explanation of my choices and the surgery and recovery time involved was thorough. He spent whatever time I needed & I never felt rushed. He did his part & I committed to my part with physical therapy. I’m 100% back 6 months post op. Skiing black diamonds with no pain.

In addition to being an excellent surgeon, Dr. Ferrell is friendly, personable and able to explain everything in an easy-to-understand way. I always felt like I knew what my options were and what to expect from my surgery and recovery. He had me do a good course of PT to see if I could avoid surgery, but when I hit a wall and wasn't progressing, he got me in for surgery right away. My knee is better than before I got hurt! I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing knee/ACL surgery.

Dr. Ferrell is an excellent physician and it shows not only in his surgical skills, but his bedside manner as well. I had an FAI done after a decade of feeling pain every time I took a step with my right leg. I believe this surgery brought me from a 25% to a 90%. My quality of life has changed for the better. Dr. Ferrell is very cognizant of his patient's social and economic status, and works to make the surgery as easy as possible. He is thoughtful and kind- a rarity in orthopedics.
