Dr. Michael Espeland, DO

I visited ER 5/23/21 due to my tonsils being severely swollen and painful to swallow. The MD did not once introduce himself as a doctor. He looked at my tonsils and told me that he is going to prescribe me with antibiotics and discharge me. I had to ask him what my results were due to him not releasing that information. He said my results came back negative. He did not offer further testing nor imaging to discover a better solution. I had tonsillitis before and received much better care. He gave me capsules to swallow pills and when it was too painful to swallow he began rushing me instead of offering liquid form. When I told him I am still in pain, his response was "what do you want me to do, I can't just give you narcotics" I was so offended. I do not feel like my concerns were heard. As a women of color I am use to advocating for my care but this doctor was completely rude. I had to ask him to refer me to a specialist. As a PT of MultiCare since 06 this was the worst treating D.O
