Very very thorough
My experience with Dr. Dufffin initially, I felt somewhat conflicted, although I must admit I’ve been bounced around from doctor to doctor causing extreme frustration. I must say, he Is the Dr. that was honest, to the point and incredibly thorough. Dr. Duffin, silently waited for ALL my test results to come in and when he called me, he was so kind, detailed and informative. I truly could hear in his voice that he cares, and for once out of all of my experiences, he truly has his patients well being his purpose in life. Throw the negative reviews out in the garbage. He will not sugar coat anything. He may come across as too harsch but this man is a blessing. The negative reviews I c r very disheartening. I will admit that my 1st appt felt discouraging. I tend to b impatient. He is an honest man who truly takes the time to find answers. And he FINALLY gave me hope and some peace of mind. Don’t run after just one visit. He truly cares and will take care of you.

Very rude!!!! Treated my grandmother like she was dumb and that she wasn't really in pain she has been dealing with RA longer than he has been alive but he knows her pain better than her. How dare you treat anyone let alone a poor old lady in pain so rudely and to toss your hands up when she just wanted to try a different injection seeing how they're is 7 different ones and this current one wasn't working for her.

Warm
Very warm doctor, usually doctors are cold and don't want to take their time with you. He took his time and was very pleasant.

Great!
He was very nice to me and my children. It is hard to find child care, but he showed us pictures of his grandkids. Thank you Dr. Duffin. So many stupid doctors get frustrated when you bring kids.

Sexist, lazy, and invalidating
Dr. Duffin was awful to me. I found him to be sexist, lazy, and invalidating. He didn't want to listen to me. He had a questionnaire that he read off of and he only wanted me to say "yes" or "no." If I tried at all to explain anything or give further details, he wasn't interested and shut me down. He also would pause any time I said yes to anything and say, "ALL women think they have xyz, but they're just exaggerating." I felt like he didn't believe a word I said because I was a woman. Based on what my GP said, she thought I needed to be tested for multiple autoimmune and rheumatological diseases, but because I didn't fit his questionnaire's criteria, Dr. Duffin only tested me for one. My geneticist was appaled when he heard this, and he ended up testing me for the diseases that Dr. Duffin failed to and I got some positive diagnoses. Dr. Duffin 100% failed me. Leaving his office I felt like I had wasted my time and money because of his negligence. Do not go to him.

I had a terrible experience with Duffin. For one he told me my arthritis is untreatable, then he told me the swelling in my ankles, and knees, is in my head. Yet he prescribed medication for what he said, he had no idea what's going on with my ankles. He reminds me of the kid at the mechanic shop, he can change a starter, but cant tell you if the starter is good or bad.

This was my first appointment with Dr. Duffin. He was very personable and communicated well (both listening and talking). His diagnosis seemed to be right on. He even found and showed me web sites that give more info on my conditions, and printed out the pages for me to take home. By the way, the education listed for him on this website is incomplete. Talking with him, he said he also graduated from USC Medical School in Rheumatology. I checked on that afterwards, and he is right.

Difficult to get appointments and once at the office can take more than one hour past scheduled appointment time to be seen. He is not up to date with most recent treatments and modalities, but is okay for bread and butter type of illness and treatment.
