Dr D, you have treated me for years so imagine how saddened I am (for my own selfish reasons) to learn of your office closure. I DO wish you the very best and Pray you are healthy, well and enjoying your deserved time after stepping away. Thanks for your care and if ever visiting Florence, look myself and my husband up for lunch. Missing you already.

Staff was cordial. Dr. D was knowledgeable and professional. I have previously been going to another GI doctor and Dr. D is very comparable.

Let's face it there's nothing very funny about colonoscopy and EGD but the staff at Dr. Dohrenwend's office manage to keep my chuckling through all the unpleasantness. My experience with Dr D. and his staff is that of a very professional and caring staff. I highly recommend them for all your digestive health needs.

I'd been seeing Dr. D for a few years when I had a follow-up EGD. At the end of my pre-EGD office visit I brought up that I'd been having some rib tenderness. My doc and "doc-in-the-box" I went to for a 2nd opinion blew it off as "getting old," and not to worry. Dr. D isn't that kind of doctor. He set me up with Dr. Kelley Smithy for a stress test which I passed. My EGD was clear, so he wanted to do one more test, an ultrasound. They found 2.8 cm mass on the upper lobe of my right kidney - cancer at 42 but caught early. Since then, he's gone further. 8 months post cancer, my urologist, who treated me for the kidney tumor, ignored aches in my lower left groin area as scar tissue. Dr D did a colonoscopy 7 years earlier than req and found early-stage pre-cancerous tubular adenomas. In short, Dr. D is a consummate professional who goes above and beyond. Just know that as a patient you must also do your homework, be a good patient, and be forthcoming w/ symptoms. Don't skip appointments!

I've been trying to see him since December, since he saw me in the ER. First appointment was made no problems, but then I get a call they need to reschedule. I understand, things come up etc. However, I was told it was because my first appointment I was not going to be seen by the Dr. And he wanted to reschedule so he could be in the office to see me. Hmm? That was my first kind of thought, something is off. Went to my appt, middle of the day, no sign on the door, However, the door is locked. I knocked, I called kept getting the answering machine. I finally gave up and left.Never have I seen this kind of behavior from any physicians office. It honestly made me nervous and a little scared to be seen by a physician that shows such little disregard over something simple, how would he handle me as a patient. Be Leary.

Dr. Dohrenwend has always been extremly nice and he is very good at explaining everything that is going on. His personel are also extremly nice and helpful. I would recommend him to my family and friends.

Dr. D is alright. I would not see anyone else in the HSV area. He and his entire staff are very personable and easy to talk with.

Dr Dohrenwend performed a series of halo ablations to eliminate Barrett's esophagus. He was professional and the most recent biopsy revealed no Barrett's remaining. I am very appreciative of his efforts on my behalf and I am very gratified at the results.

He is taking care my Liver disease and esophageal problems. His staff is nice

Do not have to wait, they take blood pressure & weigh you each time. You must take an up-to-date prescription list each time. He reviews it, asks questions and sometimes will change a medication to improve my comfort. He is not a push-over doctor. He has done several procedures for me over the years and I am satisfied with his excellent opinion & instruction. Of all the doctors I currently see, he is one of two that I believe truly does care for my well-being.

I have been seeing him for about 3 years. He is a great doctor. When I had an issue with my colon he referred me to a wonderful surgeon who took care of the problem and likely avoided a future bout with cancer.
