Outstanding pain Management Dr
I can proudly say that I was a lucky person to have Dr, Courtney as my my treating pain management physician for the last 10 plus years. This doctor honestly cares about you!! He takes the timeout to explain your condition in detail until you thourghly understand and answers all your questions. He treats your pain with the minimum amount of medication necessary and offers treatment if possible to improve your condition. absolutely, one of a kind doctor, You don't find them like this anymore.! he will be sadly missed when he retires.!

A doctor is only as good as his staff
My criticism isn't as much about Courtney himself as it is about his staff. But in all honesty, isn't a doctor only as good as his staff? He is the one who hires them, supervises them, and decides the rules of the office. I was his patient for years and was more or less satisfied with his knowledge base and care. What is the problem then? Well after being seen 4 times in one year I received a bill from him. What you have to understand about this doctor is that you don't even get your blood pressure taken until they collect any and all monies due at the appointment time. I even paid cash to save them processing fees from the credit card companies and they also charge you extra for using a card. I was told by the billing dept when I called they had no record of any payments from me for the entire year for which I was seen and paid 4 times that year. Naturally, I argued the case to no avail and left it with call me when you get this fixed and I'll come back in. They never called

Dr. Courtney was a surprise after several years with, what I thought was, a good pain management doctor in another part of Florida. When I moved, I had to get a new good pharmacy and new good doctor while trying not to be labeled as a "doctor shopper"! Dr. Courtney started from scratch, even though I had been on pain medication for 5 years already and I'm so glad he did! He treated the problems causing the pain first, then adjusted my medication. He has helped me reduce my dosage to the least amount possible while allowing me to function as well as possible. There have been a couple of glitches with office "stuff" in the 5 years I've been under his care, but nothing that's a deal- breaker for me. Just the cost of doing business in today's world... things happen. Overall, I would highly recommend Dr. Courtney.

Extremely knowledgeable in his field and conveys the details of the problem producing the pain. No shortcuts. Recommended therapy(s) are backed by diagnostic imaging, tests and his years of experience. He is 'all business', but is compassionate towards those that are patients serious about relieving their pain with an open mind and willingness to help themselves through the struggle. He does not tolerate any abuse of drugs or any substance he does not prescribe.

I have been a patient of Dr. Courtney for some time. He was treating me for neck/back issues. I have never missed an appointment with him, however This week I was sick with a chest infection. I was told they needed a 48 hour notice or pay $65.00. I went and spoke with Dr. Courtney and I reminded him that he once canceled my appt. since he was sick. He did not want to hear anything and became very annoyed. He then proceeded to examine me. After he finished he walked away and shut the door. He returned a few seconds later and very bluntly commented on my hygiene. I was so humiliated. I was in shock. I heard his staff laughing in the background. I could not believe what just happened. From the time I starting seeing Dr. Courtney he has used profane language in front of my wife. That was part of his vocabulary. My wife was very embarrassed. His staff is no better. They are very unprofessional as Dr. Courtney. I am upset over this. Dr. Courtney should be held accountable for his actions.

After OVER 10 years with the same Dr, I NOW found someone who really cares. NEVER before had MRI or X rays to SEE the real problem. He takes his time, explains, orders the right tests and get you on the right path. He is a real life changer IF you want to know the truth and get better. My family was shocked when they saw how much damage and how the previous Dr never took the time. I'm looking forward to feeling good. I'm blessed to have found him. Also, his staff is NOTHING like my previous experience. Wonderful! I found my path!

Doctor Courtney works to treat the problem not medicate it. He immediately ordered test (blood work, x-rays, sleep study) that my past pain specialist just spoke of. Before deciding on a pain plan designed for me (injections, radio freq, compounds). For the first time I had a pain management spec. That I felt comfortable with and knew he worked in my best interest. And recommended treatments that I had never heard of. Hated leaving his care (I moved out of state). Thank you Dr. Courtney & Staff

Dr. Courtney is skiled, intelligent and compassionate. I appreciate his approach to pain management, integrating various treatment options and modalities as needed for each individual situation. Waiting is rare as scheduling is realistic.

The Dr has a fair bedside manor. Schedules appointments for injections, then cancels it a few days before. Extremely concerned about money, less concerned about patients. Charges $65 for a canceled appointment less then 48 hours!

Dr Courtney is a one of a kind doctor. The BEST kind, he is a doctor with heart. If not for him I still would be in such terrible pain from R S D. He tried everything he thought might help, then with looking out side the box, he found help for me.
