ZERO STARS - DO NOT RECOMMEND!Dr. Copeland's complete lack of empathy is appalling. My physical therapist (that he sent me to) said something was going on with my femoral nerve, that it was somehow impinged and likely the cause of the muscle weakness. He was arrogant, dismissive, and REALLY irritated when I advocated for myself, requesting further testing to get to the root cause of my nerve impingement. He dismissively told me, and this is a quote 'I see patients all day every day and your problems ae no worse than theirs.' EXCUSE ME????? I wasn't being some Karen asking to see the manager, I was looking for more testing as my legs give out on frequently with no warning. Kind of a serious issue here. He was rude, arrogant, dismissive, and fat shamed me, berating me all the way out the door. The man has zero empathy and zero bedside manner. DO NOT RECOMMEND! PS - his staff is lovely

I have met with Dr. Copeland twice, regarding pain in my lower back. During my first visit, he was courteous and referred me to pain management for lumbar ablation. After 3 sessions and waiting 3 weeks following the procedure, I felt no relief. I go back to Dr. Copeland and he was extremely short, rude, condescending with me. When I asked him what else he recommends, he said “I don’t know. I’m not your dad.” He also gave comments of “you are 66, what do you expect?” and “you used to be overweight”. I’m not overweight and I think 66 is too young to hang it up! I will never return and will most definitely not refer him to anyone!

I would highly recommend Dr Copeland, I trust his judgment he will listen and explain you will get the answers to your question.

dr. copeland did surgery on my spine and probably saved my ability to walk. he's a wonderful surgeon and i highly recommend him.

The front desk is the most positive thing I can say Aqua was really nice and seemed more concerned then Dr. Copeland. He was very cold. He seemed nonchalant about my pain. Even suggesting that the doctor who referred me was “reaching” with my diagnosis. I’ve had MRI 3 back injections and he looked at my results and said there’s nothing there. Didn’t offer another xray, pain meds, nothing. Pretty much sent me out with no answers. Waste of copay! Literally had tears in my eyes. He didn’t seem to care. But scheduled another shot to see if my pain is coming from somewhere else. I asked how soon since I continued to mention my pain and of course he said they’ll call and schedule with me. He just didn’t care. It was belittling and ridiculous how insensitive he was. Arrogant as well. I’d never refer anyone here.

Dr. Copeland is the best surgeon I could have asked for. He fixed my broken bones with 2 small holes instead of cutting on me. He explained everything thoroughly and answered all my questions. I would highly recommend him.

Dr Copeland took the time to Diagnose my problem and went over my mri wit me.

I met with Dr. Copeland for a consultation for my condition. I found him to be very knowledgeable about my condition and possible treatment options. He was kind and attentive to my questions and concerns.

He was the absolute best surgeon I could have asked for. So knowledgeable and gave me excellent care.

I was originally recommended to go to another neurosurgeon in the office, but the receptionist suggested Copeland. Unfortunately, he has rescheduled my appointments 6 times now in a two month period, which I think is very unprofessional, especially since there was not an emergency on his end. He apparently does not care for new patient referrals. I will be finding someone else now.

Very thorough and conservative. Was very impressed he will be the one to do my surgery.

I read reviews after I left and some bad reviews complained about his bedside manner for a better word. I was truly upset about my injury in my neck. Dr. Copeland helped me stay focused on what needed to be done to fix it not all the baggage that comes with it. As I said before I’m not looking for a fishing buddy I want someone who’s going to stay focused. Dr. Copeland seems to me a very focused not rude. He showed me my Xrays and went over everything. I’m looking forward to having my surgery.

I saw Dr. Copeland for a "second opinion". He mostly agreed with the orthopedic surgeon I saw initially. Dr. Copeland listened to my questions and answered them in a very professional, no nonsense manner. Should I need surgery in the future, I think Dr. Copeland would be my first choice.

Excellent staff and doctor, Dr. Copeland performed back surgery and did an amazing job. On all my follow up appt's he took time with me, I never felt rushed. I'm leaving this review because not very many doctors have compassion these days, that's not the case with this doctor. It makes you feel good when your in good hands.

I suffered for almost a year with a herniated disk in my lower back which over time became more and more acute. I tried everything from massage to injections with no improvement. My pain had become so intense it took an hour just to get out of bed. Dr. Copeland was recommended by my pain management physician. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Copeland and his team as well as the nurses at Centerpoint Hospital. Dr. Copeland is an excellent surgeon , very experienced, articulate, caring and thorough. My highest recommendations. His team and the Centerpoint nurses were as good as I have experienced, friendly, professional and very attentive and caring. After the procedure my pain had gone from intense to hardly any pain at all. My wife called it a miracle. Bottom line, my total experience with Dr. Copeland, Vicki and his team was totally awesome. They have my full gratitude.

I was very impressed with my visit with Dr. Copeland. He explained everything to me in a way that I understood completely along with showing me my images that I had done for the appointment as well. Dr. Copeland followed up with my care also to see how I was doing he is a very kind, understanding, and passionate doctor.

He is a great doctor, with a wonderful office staff.

Follow-up from my brain tumor surgery. I had an MRI before the appointment to see how my progress was. Dr. Copeland always explains everything in detail, shows me the scans and answers any questions I have. He is very kind and compassionate and really cares about his patients and their family. I am extremely fortunate that he was my surgeon. His office staff is wonderful too.

Great bedside manner and is really good at explaining complicated things in a way I can understand.

Dr Copeland was very thorough in explaining the results of my MRI and the different avenues that we may take to treat my problem. He made sure that all of our questions were answered and did not rush us as we asked our pertinent questions and concerns. My wife and I were both very happy that we chose him to be my doctor.
