Dismissive of Symptoms
Dr. Chiu initially provided exceptional care back in 2008. After he transitioned to UT Southwestern, I noticed a significant decline in the quality of care (decreased appointment times, rushing through patients). This was particularly evident when I became extremely ill, experiencing severe fatigue and other symptoms that forced me to spend weekends in bed and workdays struggling to get to my corporate job (thankfully a sedentary one). Dr. Chiu insisted it was depression and offered antidepressants - he did not consider other potential diagnoses or do further testing or research. Instead, he focused on lecturing me about my personal life (and perceived failings for having more than 3 partners in a lifetime), which I found to be both irrelevant and inappropriate. It wasn't until I sought the care of more empathetic and open-minded female physicians, who listened and took my tachycardia seriously, that I was properly diagnosed.

my family is under his care more than 10 years. He is the best choice for us to get great suggestions on our medical conditions. He is very sharp to pin point out the direction of our health problems and save our time to have different tests. The specialist saw us and even said your family doctor is a great one and don't even think about to change. He helps us to find out the rare genetic disease within less than 2 weeks which was usually took for years to find out. Thank you! Dr. Chiu.

He is a very knowledgeable, skilled, smart, compasionate doctor. So, he is very popular with patients and the Medical School has also become aware of his gifts. He is very busy, but his office has never failed to take care of me even, if Dr. Chui couldn't work me in.on short notice. You just have to plan ahead with him. I would recommend him without reservation.

I have been a patient of Dr. Chiu for about 8 years. He has been a meticulous professional, taking time to discuss health issues, and recommending specialists, when necessary. He keeps up to date on the latest procedures and medication, and he provides useful advice. I have no hesitation recommending Dr. Chiu. (I am over 60 years old, male.)

Dr. Chiu is compassionate, easy to talk to and he never rushes you. He does not rush to conclusions on anything health related. He takes all of the info he has and puts it all together (I've been seeing him for 16 years-that's ALOT of info!) before he rushes to a diagnosis. He's not let's just write a prescription kind of guy. He's honest and I trust him with my life.
