Avoid this physician and INOVA
On July 22, 2024, I came in for a follow up from a Dec 2023 visit. The week before the appointment, I left 3 messages for the doctor, his nurse and the receptionist for me to take a blood test prior to the appointment, so we can talk about the latest result. No response. On the day of the appointment, Dr. Alsamman met with me, prior to any blood test, and all he discussed was my blood test result 7 months ago…this of not medical standard practice. I complained to Dr. Alsamman that this is wrong and why is he doing this. It’s irrelevant to discuss data that’s 7 months old. We should be discussing about the latest metabolic data and he would not authorize me to take the blood test before seeing him. Dr. Alsamman confessed that he’s afraid his patients may not want to see him after they do the blood test!!! He asked me for follow-up visit after the blood test, which we could have discussed if he let me do the blood test prior to seeing him.

Conneceted and talked to me like a friend
Have had 2 physicals so far and each one was great. He was easy to chat about uncomfortable topics with. He showed a connection on a personal level but offered a professional insight. Listened to me and answered the questions I had, I'm 42 and never needed a primary care physician but know I will need one going forward, glad I stumbled onto him.

Not a Worthy Medical Opinion
I think he was on his best behavior the first year at INOVA because at first he was pleasant the few times I met with him. HOWEVER, the last time was appalling. He was unprofessional and inappropriate. He told me my condition that Dr. Pipan has been treating me for for 7 years was, "nonsense," and in his country, "We do not tolerate people like YOU!" It was way out of bounds. Dr. Pipan called the next day to accommodate my needs.

Went for a Annual physical exam. Asked me 'do you have insurance'. i said yes, he said 'Lets use it then'. I got a $1000 bill afterwards.
