Dr. Meredith Townsend, DO

Dr. Townsend performed my hysterectomy a year ago, and everything went phenomenally. Everything was explained thoroughly to me, I felt respected, encountered no complications in post, and have so much more of my life back. I waited a while to post this review to make sure that I could give an honest and thorough take. I can safely say that after my annual checkup, I am in tip-top shape. I would (and have) recommended Dr. Townsend to anyone looking to have this procedure.

It's been an absolute pleasure having Dr. Townsend do my hysterectomy. Throughout the whole process she's been fantastic about explaining the process, answering questions, and generally being very accommodating She has lovely bedside manner and is an absolute delight as well as being LGBTQ+ friendly! My surgery went so well and my recovery has been fantastic! I highly recommend Dr. Townsend!

I saw the other reviews on here and was a little nervous going into this. I was pleasantly surprised! This was my first annual appt with her and she was incredible! So kind, welcoming and easy to talk to. Great bedside manner. The appt was very efficient- she came into my room quickly, answered all my questions with thorough/knowledgable answers, was gentle during the exam, and I was out the door in no time. I will definitely book my next appt with her!

I met with Dr. Townsend to discuss ultrasound results and to have a biopsy. I felt comfortable with her and did not feel rushed at all. She is very approachable. I would highly recommend her. I will be having surgery with her sometime soon and I feel at ease knowing will be performing my surgery.

Had surgery with complications. This surgery had me in the hospital with 3 ER visits and 3 nights, 4 days inpatient. Her verbiage was insulting and demeaning at best. Now dealing with Medical PTSD due to her care. Would suggest NEVER GO TO HER. She is unskilled ND damages her patients

after my biopsy, which was first attempted without any pain meds or anxiety meds, the results were posted on the patient portal as Cancer, but no one called me. When I kept phoning to have Dr. Townsend call me, she was always "with patients or in surgery" and took two and a half days to call me back. That call was only to set an appt for me to come in. Then that appointment was barely informative, and really only to refer me to a gynecological oncologist with the statement "they'll explain it all." Absolutely no regard for the anxiety and fear that reading a lab report that says you have cancer might create, and no concern for a timely, or compassionate response.

Dr. Townsend did not diagnose my high TSH levels during my first pregnancy (which ended in miscarriage AFTER heartbeat at 10 weeks), did not diagnose multiple uterine fibroids that were hindering my ability to get and stay pregnant, and overdosed me on misoprostol sending me to the ER as confirmed by (4) other healthcare providers. Additionally I had bad experiences with her showing up late for appts, even tele/health, and very poor experiences with the support staff at the practice she works at. Cannot recommend to anyone.

Dr. Townsend is easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend her.
