Dr. Melvin Chiu, MD

I scheduled appointment over 2 months ago. A day before the appointment they called me to cancel my appointment. They said they don’t take Medicare. I have been the patient of USC Keck for over 20 years. When I scheduled, I asked them twice to confirm they take Medicare. The scheduler put me on hold and asked the manager and then told me they take Medicare. Why don’t they inform me sooner so I can get other doctors. They severely delayed my treatment. They are very immoral and cruel. Cannot trust these kind of people for your care.

I visited Dr. Chiu to get check a mole. He shined a flashlight on my face and said it probably wasn't cancer and that he didn't see any other issues on my face. The exam with Dr. Chiu lasted under 2 minutes. I received an initial bill of almost $300 which I thought was a bit high but not unreasonable. Then I received a second bill for $462 for a clinic fee. Seems like these Keck doctors really take advantage of people.

Dr. Chiu was very professional, took the time to explain findings, was very kind and nice. He found a couple of skin cancers missed by another doctor. I am so grateful that I went to him for a second opinion.

I had a glomus tumor removed from my leg by Dr. Chiu in 2012 at UCLA. He is thourough and his performance is of the highest medical grade. He examined my body for any dermalogical conditions. I am planning on seeing him again in March 2019. He is now at USC.
