Dr. Melissa Waterstone, MD

She is one foot out the door from the second she enters. She doesn’t care about you at all - and answers all questions in a condescending tone. In fact, I cried at almost every single appointment I had with her because she just makes me feel horrible every time I see her. The pregnancy appointments none of my concerns were answered and she didn’t take the time to walk through any information with me. After 20 weeks I tried to switch but Weil Cornell policy doesn’t allow switching doctors. I am very happy I did not end up having her for delivery -My 6 week post birth appointment with her was terrible - it was maybe 10 minutes long, she didn’t ask me at all about anything, any pain, depression, etc. She didn’t ask to see a picture of the baby nor what we named her, didn’t say anything about not being there for her delivery, or ask how delivery went. Her physical exam of me was extremely painful due to her rushing, and she didn’t care. She dismissed every single concern.

Dr. Waterstone is simply the best. She is very professional and will take the time to listen to you and answer every question.

Dr Waterstone is the Best OBGYN doctor I’ve ever had. She is so smart, professional, personable and punctual. I never had to wait long for my appointments. She’s also very knowledgeable, experienced and informative in her field of medicine. I started seeing her when I moved back to NYC from SF in 2009. She was a referral from a friend. I had since moved to CT a few years later but I do make the trip into the city to see her for my annual check-up. I only trust Dr. Waterstone with my OBGYN checkups. She is worth the trip.

A study in contrasts, Dr. Waterstone hits all the right notes: efficient yet thorough, composed yet caring, irreverent yet focused, straightforward yet sensitive. Also, positively hilarious! Don’t be deceived by the fact that she’s not overtly touchy-feely. She did right by us at every turn and truly cares. Hip though she is, she never moralizes or falls for the prevailing privileged chatter when it comes to choices in pregnancy & parenting. If you want someone who’s well-versed in contemporary pressures in pregnancy & early parenthood but who aims to lighten your load, she’s your person. Icing on the cake: not once did we have to explain or defend ourselves as a same-sex couple. From receptionists to nurses to Dr. Waterstone, no one in the practice ever defaulted to heteronormative language. P.S. - She helped save our son’s life in the delivery room.

Absolutely love Dr. Waterstone. I found her in a panic when I was pregnant and needed to change my horrific obgyn. Been going since 2012. She is lovely, straightforward, practical and funny! She is super quick in advising test results. My wait time is NEVER longer than 10min max.

Dr Waterstone delivered my son at Alexandra Cohen. Her straightforward, compassionate care through my pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum appointments was so comforting to this first time mom. Appointments were easy to schedule, she was accessible through the message portal, and I never felt rushed or my concerns dismissed. Highly recommend!

The entire staff at Cornell was amazing. When I met Dr. Waterstone she was right on time and answered all of my questions. She is extremely personable, and really makes you feel like you're in this together. No wonder there is a long wait list to see her!

I can't speak highly enough of Dr Waterstone - I felt safe and reassured with all my concerns during my whole pregnancy. In fact, now that I have my healthy baby girl (who she delivered - yay!) I will miss my appointments with her. The new delivery hospital is also an absolute dream, felt like a hotel. I recommend her to everyone looking for a OB/GYN.
