Uncompassionate doctor
Melissa Miles is definitely one of the most uncompassionate and uncaring doctors I've ever come across. If you want a colon surgeon that knows what she's doing then Melissa Miles is a good doctor for you, but if you want a colonl surgeon that actually has compassion and cares for their patients then Melissa Miles is not the doctor you want. She canceled my procedures twice, and then I found out that she canceled five other procedures of people that had cancer. She blamed it on a problem that she had with the medical supervisor of the building she worked at previously. I was told this by her surgery scheduler. I don't care what the reason is, she should have called each of her patients that was canceled and made an apology to them for not being able to take care of them. What she did instead, was have her surgery scheduler call me and each of these patients and tell them that she's not going to be able to do their procedure. Check out Dr. Garrett Friedman incredible and very caring.

Women's Cancer Center of Nevada was location.Receptionist (children) were very rude when making appointment, laughing at my phone call for hemorrhoid surgery.?Appointment was for Dr.Brower was seen by DR. Miles I think(talks to fast).Assistant nurse very rude and seemed reluctant to even help but did her job.Dr.Miles comes in like a runaway freight train, "do this do that".Performs exam that took 20 sec and decides I need surgery.Tells me all the things I have to do in the meantime with the assumption I don't already do them.Does her job providing info but very fast. Then I wait to meet Eric the guy that sets up surgery dates, as I wait in side room, can hear him make derogatory comments to the childish receptionist for a laugh about my answers to Dr.Miles.Eric very rude throughout info given, not friendly or concerned.Does his job.Whole staff gossips as soon as they leave room.Unprofessional throughout! Did their jobs?Hope my surgery goes well???

Receptionist's rude over the phone and highly inappropriate, laughing at my required surgery for hemorrhoids when making appointment.Seen by Dr. Miles but was referred to Dr. Brower? Assistant nurse very rude and snotty. Mellissa burst in the room and its rapid fire questions with no concern for my answers, just wants to tell me what's what.Performs exam that took maybe 20 sec. Next its everything I have to do assuming I don't already do these things anyway(drinking enough water etc.Talks too fast and cuts me off when I speak, then out the door. Hope my surgery goes well?

My appointment with Dr. Miles was awful. I presented her with my 10-15 year worsening disorder and brought all labs and imaging results. After she glanced over them, she said there is nothing she could do for me without talking with me about my symptoms. She talked to me in such a derogatory manner like I was stupid (I actually have a doctorate in medicine), and didn’t care about my concerns. I actually wasn’t supposed to be scheduled with this provider. My referral was to someone else. The whole experience was enraging and humiliating! Grrrr...

A receptionist is a BIG part of the team. I’m amazed that Naomi is still employed! First contact she said I couldn’t email scans and Dr. Miles had no access to them and to bring mine to appointment. Spent an hour downloading everything to ipad, get there and doctor has scans. Next, I call for appt. I ask for Friday. 3:45? Drive 45 min. 1-way and appt. is next Wednesday and Dr. Miles has no time now. O...K... So on Wednesday I sign in, tell Naomi that last line on sign-in sheet was used and I’m number one on next page. TWO hours later , 20 minutes of being last people waiting , through the clear glass, Naomi motions me up with her finger. She says Who are you? What doctor are you here for? What time was your appointment? I tell her and remind her that I told her I was number one on new page. Dr. Miles’ partner saw me and was fabulous. No one ever apologized then or the next day. If Naomi blew it with me 3 times, won’t she blow it with others? Why is she still there? My time matters too

This is one of the few doctors I believe actually cares about her patients, willing to go the extra mile to find out what problem the patient is suffering from, has a calming influence, and listens to what the patient is telling her, without doubt one of the best doctors I have come across, Abington Hospital shall be in deep s**t if she ever leaves as I believe she is irreplaceable!
