Dr. Melissa Kaptanian, MD

Dr. Kaptanian is very caring for her patients and takes it deep to heart if her patient has recurrence. She will suggest for you the best possible treatment. She is very smart and experienced as she lays out for you your diagnosis and treatment options. She speaks quickly and you may have a hard time keeping up. That may come off as her not caring BUT she really cares a lot and deeply. When one is in the business of saving lives one may need to disconnect to protect themselves and stay professional. But when she is done with laying it all out she is still there for you for your questions and you may just see her open up that she CARES A LOT by accident. haha. I love her, she is amazing and I trust her on my team!

Dr Kaptanian was immediately condescending and honestly she made me very uncomfortable! I have been having a lot of pain with a fibroadenoma. She essentially kept saying how small it was in size and how she had NEVER heard of anyone in pain from one so small! Then when she rudely did the breast exam she said she couldn’t even feel the lump making it even more condescending! The entire visit felt like a joke it was seriously unbelievable….Absolutely horrible experience and Im still shocked at the way I was treated! Do Better!!!

I have never had as exceptional care as I have had with Dr Hulvat. Every appt, her office staff, her surgical team, have all been absolutely stellar in their care and concern for me!

I was treated for breast cancer in October 2012 and insisted on a radical mastectomy. She clearly explained all other options. I had received my first radical mastectomy with no consultation or choice while teaching in Australia in 1970. Times have changed so dramatically that I do not believe I could have received better explanations or options or treatment from any breast surgery specialist. She was always on time, clearly explained everything, gave me written copies of her notes, followed up more than I felt I needed. Always professional, kind, caring and listened to every concern I had. Her support staff was equal to her high standards and compassionate care.

Where is the personal approach in medicine anymore. This lady does not have any caring or compassion whatsoever. Does not want to give patients the time of day. Go somewhere else.
