Caring and Diligent Physician
I recently was admitted to the hospital for an undetermined virus which had caused my lungs to fill with fluid. I am a kidney transplant recipient and therefore my team of hospital doctors included a nephrologist, namely Dr. Isbell. It was determined that I would benefit from a bronchoscopy to identify the virus in order to prescribe the appropriate antibiotics. Unfortunately there were no available slots to perform the procedure. So it was decided that I would have the procedure the following week via outpatient services since I was showing some signs of improvement. However, Dr. Isbell insisted that I needed the procedure earlier and petitioned senior hospital administration that a slot be given asap. As a result of her efforts I had the procedure the next day. However, blood was discovered in my lungs which added new health risks. I have fully recovered and am very grateful for Dr. Isabell’s incredible care and diligence, perhaps avoiding a more serious health crisis.

Most definitely
Dr. Isbell is the mist compassionate caring and knowledgable doctor I have ever been acquainted with. She has found may things that needed to be addressed in the 15 years I have known her and have taken the the time to address all of them. She deserves to be awarded every year. Her staff Lisa and her crew are just as outstanding as Dr Isbell.

Dangerous Dr
I was a Patient of this Dr. Isbell for 2 years. in that 2 years, she lied to me at every turn and gave a false diagnosis every time. I ask if I could possibly talk with the transplant doctor or the team I was not allowed to. She told me she disgust my case with the Transplant Surgeon and told me that he said I would never be able to get a transplant II was only 67 at the time. IWhat Dr does that without examining. I move out of state New Dr. told them what she told me and they ask what quack would do this. I was examined by the transplant team here and Dr. I is now on the transplant list and approved for transplant Isbell lie the who time. As they told me here a Doctor of Hypertension does not have the skill or the training to make that DIAGNOSIS She a killer stay away

I love her. She’s been my nephrologist, in San Antonio, for years and years, I’d like to say going back to ‘98 after my first kidney transplant. I’ll make the 4 hour trip from McAllen just to see her. Her professionalism, her true concern for her patients, her experience is, in my opinion, unmatched. What can I say, I’m a fan. When you find exceptional physicians, it’s hard to not boast.

Dr. Isbell is the very BEST physician I've ever see. She listens, has a wonderful down to earth common sense approach, even though being extremely bright, has a calming manner and an outstanding staff. Dr. Isbell is my most favorite physician-EVER!

Dr Isbell has been my doctor for over 20 years. I have gone through dialysis, and now have been a kidney recipient for 12 years. I wouldn’t have come this far without her excellent care. Great nurses and staff.
