Care quality degraded
Telehealth
Initially was comprehensive and considerate. Found quality of care degraded the longer I saw her. Was in the hospital this year and needed to follow up with her asap for uncontrollable type 1 and she spent 3 mins with me and missed the fact that my pcos was causing insulin resistance and I needed new medication and treatment plan. After seeing a new endocrinologist who spends at least 15 mins talking and reviewing my chart I realized that the standard of care Dr. Antonik was providing was subpar at best.

Excellent steps taken for my thyroid cancer
I just moved to Virginia (with a test result from a Dr. in the state I had moved from) Dr. Antonik took immediate steps with an excellent surgeon who specialized in surgery for my particular type of cancer. With Dr. Antonik's help, my cancer was caught at stage 1. I cannot ever thank her enough! I highly recommend her as an endocrinologist but especially as a first step for an endo cancer.

Do not see for thyroid cancer
Dr. Antonik's failure to adequately analyze my case delayed my thyroid cancer treatment by at least a month.

Off to a good start
As a recently diagnosed patient with thyroid cancer, Dr. Antonik has been responsive and very kind. I have not felt like she did not have time for me. She has addressed all of my questions. Laurie

Like another patient, Dr. Antonik seemed interested when I first saw her. After a couple visits she only looked at the numbers and didn't consider my symptoms or how I felt. My appointments got spread out to only once a year and I had horrible skin, sleep, and digestive conditions show up in the meantime. She has a nice personality but...that did nothing to improve my condition. My goal was to get to the root cause of my Hashimotos/hypothyroidism and help my body heal.

I have been seeing Dr. Antonik for a number of years now and she has helped me achieve excellent control of my diabetes. I have been a Type I Diabetic for 25 years and I've had the my record best A1C's since I've been under her care. She was also supportive in helping me try a brand new insulin and I very much appreciate that the office is technologically savy. Being able to view past visit records, lab results, and future orders online as well as conduct virtual visits is fantastic and an example I wish other practices would follow!

We left today her Fair Fax office without having an appointment, we were two minutes late because of the someone car crash on the road/ we leave 45 minutes away/, and were in Antonic cancelations of two appointments for 5 month and CARELESS for my daughter system and medicine control, we could wait for the doctor but she doesn't care for my daughter, her employee always very disrespectful and rude, especially black guy and another red long hair woman who laugh and had a sarcastic notes:{:{

0 stars. I waited over 40 minutes to be seen by the doctor. (They charge you for being 15 minutes late but make their patients wait more than twice that long!) During my new patient appointment the doctor, Melissa Antonik, was more interested in doing data entry than talking about the issues that brought me there. She asked me if I wanted medication; I thought that I was going to see a professional for a professional's opinion.

I have been a patient of Dr. Antonik for a few years; prior to that I was seeing a different endocrinologist at another practice in the area whose staff was obnoxious and rude. Dr. Antonik has impressed me with her willingness to listen and answer questions directly, with her calm demeanor, with her sense of humor, and with her competence. Independently, her office can do A1C measurements based on a droplet of blood from the finger as opposed to drawing blood from a vein.

Dr. Antonik is very approachable, kind and will take the time to listen and discuss my concerns. Test results come in quickly and she always includes a message with the results listed on line. It's easy to message back and forth with her when I have concerns.

1) The fist 2 times I went I had to wait 25-30 min 2) They want you to write down your numbers in a book and I guess are too cheap to pay someone to set up the software so that they can look at your blood sugars off your meter or insulin pump (I use medtronic the #1 device out there) 3) I go to try out the dexcom sensor and they give me one that doesn't work the 1st time around so I have to go back a week later 4) I try to return the dexcom sensor and drive over an hour away and end up 15 minute

I've been going to Dr. Antonik for about 7 years now, to treat my type 1 diabetes. I haven't gone in over a year now though, due to some frustrations I've had with her recently. I'm not really sure she's an advocate for me, and she has been very reluctant to go to bat for me with some paperwork I needed help with.

I've been going to Dr. Antonik for several years to treat my Hypothyroidism/Hashi. It came to a point when I don't feel that she was in my corner to treat my symptoms. She only wanted to see me 1x/year, which my current dr. is appalled at. I went downhill, experiencing what I came to find are typical hypo symptoms, but she said my bloodwork looked good so would not offer further treatment or advice.I went to a new Endo. and I'm feeling soooo much better on my increased dosage and NDT supplement.
