Don’t bother with Shakeri
Dr. Shakari is condescending, doesn’t listen, and repeats herself with the same question. She would not prescribe a prescription I needed because she never has done so. She referred me to other doctors so they could prescribe the prescription. I have gone to MD’s PAs and nurse practitioners who have prescribed this medication over the last 20 years. Makes no sense that she would not.. Don’t waste your time with her or your money.

Beyond awful
I regard myself as forgiving. But she is awful. Doesn’t listen for two seconds. Orders expensive tests. Hostile if you start to even describe your experience or question her rational behind her tests. Rude. Incomplete. Incompetent and will cost you a lot of money and not help you. When I came back to see her after a follow up visit on a colonoscopy she hadn’t read the notes and said “why didn’t you get the colonoscopy”?! When I told her I did, but had to reschedule she was hostile defensive and then said I need another one. I said I just had it done. She said; “you need one every 5 yrs” I told her I don’t need another test, I need your help in interpreting the test and use it to help narrow down my issue. She said “do you want another doctor”?! I said, i want to have a conversation about my health and the tests that I completed. She ignored me. Then ordered another blood test, another xray…She is terrible. The worst service in any industry from anyone I have ever experienced.

Not a good PCP
Horrible communication. Rude staff. Does not call patient when tests turn up positive results.

Doesn't prescribe birth control(!)
She seemed ok, not personable, but ok. But then I found out after establishing care, via My Chart conversation with her assistant, that she refuses to prescribe birth control and would not accept my refill request for birth control I have been on for years. I was absolutely shocked. How can you be a primary care doctor for people with uteruses and not write prescriptions for birth control?! I have never encountered a primary care doctor who refuses to prescribe birth control before, and one I am related to confirmed that is insane. It at least warrants her mentioning that in my initial appointment when I tell her I am on birth control. She has forced me to get a referral to an OBGYN and pay a copay for yet another office visit I don't have time for just to refill a birth control I have been on for YEARS. Clearly, I will be finding a different primary care doctor. This person shouldn't care for women.

Didn’t take time to listen or communicate clearly. Very Rushed visit. Hostile bedside manner. Not open to really helping patient. I complained of ear pain swollen lymph nodes fever chest pain sore throat and difficulty breathing and swallowing. She didn’t look in my ears or listen to lungs. Had to ask nurse to call her back in to actually do an exam and take a throat culture. When imaging was ordered she did not include all the symptoms info on the Imagine order which creates a problem when trying to schedule the imaging. I the patient should be listen to and examined. This is a service.

Smart but ....
I believe she is very smart. However, her bedside manner is zero, zip, zilch. She doesn't exactly listen. At all. She is rushed and unfriendly. If you need a doctor to take some vitals and throw meds at you, she is for you. If you need someone to listen to your concerns, she is not for you. And definitely do not take your elderly parents to her. Of all the patients who need a little extra concern, it's them, and she just doesn't seem to have it in her.

Reads a symptom list on a computer screen and asks if you're experiencing them. Made me do unnecessary expensive tests and then tried to schedule an even more costly scan. I can read this at home and not have to pay $300+ for it either. Also she has an arrogant and condenscending attitude when you explain your symptoms, as if you don't know what you're talking about because she got into an industry built on keeping you on a neverending routine of scripts and debt.

Insensitive, Talks down to you and is in and out so fast you leave thinking you need to see someone else for the same reason. I left confused about my condition. People deserve more from their health care providers.

I went to Dr. Shakeri for a variety of problems, not having been to a proper Dr. in years. She was professional, efficient, a careful and compassionate listener, and obviously knowledgeable with no trace of arrogance. I was especially impressed by her methodical approach to diagnosis. She made the most of our short time together but never seemed rushed. A true gem among modern physicians. Friendly, efficient staff and almost no wait.

Dr. Shakeri is what is wrong with the healthcare system in the United States. She is greedy, useless, and not empathetic at all. After establishing my husband as a patient half a year prior, she still sent us to the ER instead of filling albuterol inhaler Rx until he could be seen by her (he ran out 2 days before the appointment). He went in for the flu another time and all she did was give him acid reflux medication. Totally useless and only looking to make as much as she can off her patients.

She is very condescending and belittling to concerns you have. I went back again to give it another chance and had the same experience. It is upsetting when you know your body and have been living with something for so long yet they act like you have no clue what is going on in your own body and treat you like you are delusional. I would not recommend this Doctor to anyone.
