POOR CARE
My husband was admitted to St. Joe's Hospital, and Dr. Spencer was listed as the admitting physician. Shockingly, she never once saw him in person, never spoke to him face-to-face, over the phone, or in any form of direct communication during his entire stay. Despite this, her documentation in both the history and physical, as well as the discharge summary, falsely states that she spent less than 50% face-to-face counseling with the patient regarding co-morbidities, nutrition, pain control, and other topics. This is completely inaccurate—there was ZERO face-to-face contact at any point. I find this not only misleading but extremely concerning. Accurate documentation is critical in-patient care and billing, and this behavior raises serious ethical and professional red flags.I will be reporting this to the insurance company.Florida Medical has many excellent physicians. Their hospitalist group is the worst we have ever encountered, the poorest of care.

I was admitted to the hospital and didn’t see a hospitalist dr for 18 hours. She was not compassionate and was very condescending. Told me there were other patients sicker than me. And talked down to me and didn’t care that I was in severe pain. I felt very attacked and alone in my care.

I was admitted to the hospital through the ER. with extremely high blood pressure. I had a list of my medicines and regimen. Apparently it was she who changed the entire regimen which I have been on for a decade or more. Prescribed by a Tampa specialist who holds a Phi Beta Kappa. This change was made without discussing with me. The regimen that she changed was not associated with blood pressure. She was "on call" and did not respond to several calls by staff. I found her curt & arrogant.
