Judgmental
She was a resident at UT Medical Center when I went into labor with my first child. I was young at the time so I’m not sure if that played a factor. I had my first contraction around 5am, had an appointment at 7:45am. I was 3 cm at the appointment. Doctor told me I could either stay or go home to get my things and come back. I ended up getting turned away as they had no beds. Walked and walked to help progress. Finally when contractions were at 1 min 30 seconds, I asked to go to triage. On my way to the room, she saw me in the hallway doubled over with a contraction and told another resident “she’s only here for pain meds.” Told patient advocate I did not want her in the room at all. When my husband stepped out and I was alone, she came then to apologize. I refused pain meds until I got my epidural. Horribly sad experience with my first birth.

Attentive and caring
I love the care that I always get from Dr. Rooney. She listens with empathy and makes recommendations on care but never tells you what to do. She is the best. It’s been a while since my last appointment but I would definitely recommend her.

Incredible
I love Dr. Rooney-Thompson! I’m seeing her for my second pregnancy. I saw her at first for my 6 week PP after my stillborn daughter as I had a horrific experience with my very unempathetic OB with my daughter and refused to go back to him. She greeted me with so much empathy, sympathy and care. She let me cry and teared up with me. This pregnancy she’s being so careful, helpful and amazing. She cares so deeply about me and my baby, which is something I never experienced before. She listens to all of my concerns and addresses them fully. She’s very quick to respond to emails as well. I would recommend her to anyone. She’s an incredible, caring human and doctor. And her nurse, Bailey is also incredible!

I have loved Dr. Rooney-Thompson! She's the first doctor I actually look forward to seeing. She helped take on my original gyno's patient load while he was out for surgery and I ended up remaining with her through delivery and have continued to see her since. She was thorough in preparing me for a repeat cesarean and has always had amazing bedside manners. I just received a letter saying she is leaving Warren Clinic and I am very concerned about finding a new doc.

I kept telling her my concerns of my cervical issues from my last pregnancy as well as other issues and she brushed them off because I had twins last time. Turns out she should of listened because I needed emergency surgery to stitch my cervix closed at almost 20 weeks. Even when showing up 15 min before my appointment it was always another 15 min wait after the scheduled time and another 20 min in the room waiting. She refused to listen to my concerns I wouldn't recommend her to anyone.

Very professional but personable. Takes time to inform of all options & discuss pros/cons of each and gives opinion when asked but allowed me to make my own decisions. Listens and discusses all concerns/issues until patient is comfortable. I will continue as a patient.
