Dr. Meera Varman, MD

Took our not even two week old to the after-hours pediatric clinic due to his eye being swollen shut and Dr. Batman was the doctor available. They asked us to be there at a certain time, but we weren’t seen for an hour an a half. Meanwhile, we were kept in a waiting room with much older children who we could hear were being seen for RSV and flu symptoms. When we finally did see the doctor, she was extremely difficult to understand. She did not explain at all what she was doing, what she was seeing, or what she thought was the problem. In the end, all she said was she thought it was infected, anything could have caused it, and she called in some drops. No real explanation or instruction. In fact, we sat in the room an extra 10 minutes after she left waiting for her to come back and she never did. We ended up having to call our primary pediatrician the next day to review our chart and get an explanation of the findings and prognosis.

Dr. Varman didn’t address the issue I brought my child in for. She also prescribed medication in tablet form to my 2 year old. Waste of an hour and a half; we will be going to a different doctor tomorrow.
