Brilliant, thorough and truly compassionate
Dr. Kumar was the first doctor I've visited who actually listened to me. This took time and attention, and most of all thoroughness and compassion. Dr. Kumar has endless supplies of this. They helped me unpack the multiple medical problems I was facing and make a plan. I'm looking forward to following up with them for a long time. Thank you Dr. Kumar!

not recommend her services to anyone. Read this
I saw this doctor on October 31, 2023 which happened to be Halloween day. During our discussion about my condition, she appeared to be in a hurry and mentioned that the consultation should only last half an hour, even as I was in the midst of expressing my concerns, crying. Additionally, she provided me with an incorrect diagnosis. At the end of our initial visit, she assured me that she would arrange for a case manager and specialist to further assess my situation . Upon realizing that I hadn't heard back, I sent her an email as a reminder on 11-24-23, In response, she expressed concern for my well-being but suggested that I take matters into my own hands by finding a specialist through my insurance or online resources. AN OTHER EMAIL SENT ON December 4th saying that she can't find any recommendations. and that she's sure she diagnose me right. well you are not specialist.. understand that this left me feeling disappointed and frustrated.

Poor listening skills - not functional med at all
My experience with Dr. Kumar was very negative, and I would not recommend her to anyone. After seeing the notes from our appointment, I realized she did not listen to anything I shared and instead projected her own thoughts. After diagnosing me with a thyroid disease, I asked her if I should see an endocrinologist for a consult, and she said they wouldn't take me seriously. After I decided to follow my gut and see an endocrinologist anyway, turns out they took me very seriously! Dr. Kumar pushed back on labs that I requested saying they weren't necessary, however those labs were the very ones used to create a treatment plan for me. Dr. Kumar knows some of the functional medicine buzzwords, but she doesn't understand the body as being fully connected and doesn't do due diligence to find the root of the issue and LISTEN to the patient in front of her without interrupting every thought.

I have had the great honor of being Dr. Kumar's patient for almost a full year after switching from a less-than-helpful MGH PCP, and I can't sing her praises enough. Dr. Kumar and her practice are the reason why I was able to get immediate care needed for Covid-19 (confirmed by a positive test) and why I have gotten the amazing support needed as my case of Covid-19 became chronic. I have experienced tremendous gaslighting from specialists and my former PCP in regards to Covid-19, and Dr. Kumar has been the ONE practitioner that has actually listened to and truly supported my Covid-19 symptoms and experiences. She is extremely knowledgeable, will do everything that she can to educate you about your health and next steps, and is the greatest medical ally I've ever had. A truly gifted doctor and person, with so much compassion and medical knowledge, and has been my one ray of hope in this long haul Covid-19 fight. Best it gets as far as I'm concerned.

I heard of Dr. Kumar through a friend so reached out to her clinic at the Seaport for an urgent visit. Her staff was so accommodating, they went out of their way to bring in some supplies they needed so they could do my throat swab. I didn't feel like I was at a doctor's office, and even had a chance to chat with one of the other patients whom they were helping. Dr. Kumar is a joyful soul who will do anything for her patients. I feel lucky to know she's there for me.

The doctor is always late. Very unprofessional way to treat people. But, if you are late- forget it! No accommodations are made. This office only wants your money and insurance claim. Find a better doctor. They are out there.
